Wilsey accommodates up to six people and is available for hire on a self-catering basis. Tranquilly located within the Yorkshire Dales close to the idyllic village of Dent, Wilsey presents an ideal location for exploring not only the Dales but also the nearby Lake District. Wilsey has been awarded a 3 star rating by The English Tourism Council.

A converted 17th Century building which nestles into the hillside by the hamlet of Gawthrop, Wilsey is just one mile from Dent. It affords breathtaking views over the surrounding countryside and the rolling hay meadows in the summer months are a delight to behold.

The large entrance hall has plenty of room for walking boots, fishing rods, golf clubs, pushchairs and the like! The kitchen is equipped with everything you will need for your stay, including electric cooker, fridge/freezer and microwave oven. Outside, there is private parking for up to four vehicles and garden furniture is provided.

A multi-fuel stove located within the original stone chimney piece warms the spacious lounge area for those cosy winter evenings where you can relax with a bottle of wine and your feet up. A television is available and there is also a large pine table which comfortably seats up to six people.

Upstairs there are three large bedrooms. The master bedroom is spacious and includes a cot. A further double bedroom and twin room are also available. All bedrooms have plenty of storage space and benefit from splendid views of the local countryside. The bathroom has WC, bath and shower with heated towel rail for those who appreciate life's little luxuries.

Wilsey has the benefit of electric storage heaters throughout and fuel costs are included within the tariff. The beds are fitted with duvets and pillows. Bedlinen is provided, however for short breaks, there is a small charge for this. Please note that towels are not provided.

Well behaved pets are welcome at Wilsey.

The Cumbria/Lake District

Dentdale offers a tranquil base to tour both The Yorkshire Dales & Lake District National Parks. Just 10 miles from Junction 37 of the M6, although you would never know as you cruise over Barth Bridge with Comb Scar above.

The cobbled centre of Dent village, with it's whitewashed cottages real ale pubs & tea shops/cafes is less than 25 miles from Windermere & The Lakes.

Dent has England's highest railway station at over 1000ft up on the famous Settle to Carlisle railway, offering a daily scheduled service to Carlisle & Leeds. There are also regular steam hauled trains that power up the steep gradients, through the nearby Blea Moor tunnel & over Dent Head & Arten Gill viaducts.

Located in The Western Dales area of The Yorkshire Dales National Park, Dentdale is a very special place to come & stay.

A tranquil haven, Dentdale is 10 miles long, with the high fells including Whernside, Aye Gill Pike & Great Combe dominating the skyline, with The Howgill fells & Lakeland peaks to the west.

2 real ale pubs in Dent , both serve food until 8.30pm, 2 tea shops/cafes & a village store that is also the post office on Tuesday & Thursday morning. The Heritage Centre, (museum of local history) artist's studio & village store.

Great walks & cycle routes, low & high level, sea views out in to Morecambe Bay from the top of Crag Hill. Lazy walks along the banks of the River Dee & The Dales Way.
