The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
The lively town of Denia offers twenty kilometers of seafront for all tastes. You can stroll, relax in the sun, cycle, snorkel in the crystal clear waters of Las Rotas or sail from the state-of-the-art marina. A thriving, historical fishing port and Moorish castle town, Denia is much more Spanish than most of its neighbours, and you won't be overrun by foreigners. Valencians have been coming here for decades for weekedn breaks, and to catch the ferries to Ibiza and Majorca.
Denia offers a great range of affordable shopping, good eating and varied nightlife for those who want it.
The weather is mild all year round. It's usually cold from January to March although it is often beautifully sunny, with great sunrises and sunsets. A truly green and beautiful part of Spain, overlooked by the magnificent Montgo mountain.
Denia / Montgo Sol area
For those seeking history, the Castle of Dénia, Museum of Archaeology, Museum of Ethnology, The Toy Museum, Church of the "Asunción", Church and Convent "San Antonio" and historic Town Hall Square

For food and drink, the fisherman's quarters (Baix la Mar) and Les Roques street full of great restaurants over-looking the seafront esplanade with a fun hippy market, open daily
For self-catereres, the Lonja del Pescado (Fish exchange) with the traditional auction,
For nature lovers and hikers, the magnificent Montgó Natural Park with its pines, birdlife, trails and extraordinary views, plus the Tower of Gerro and Ermita Conquista where the locals hid during the Spanish Civil War.
Les Rotes with its lovely clear water for terrific snorkelling over rocks and in caves, diving from rocky beaches like Punta Negra and El Trampoli. Some beaches even offer nude subathing!
For a laidback drink or snack, La Marineta Cassiana is a lovely small family beach with restaurants and snack bars, good music and safe swimming for children.
