Home description

Villa Rosa is a new, privately owned villa in an elevated position, with panoramic views over lemon and orange groves, a nature reserve and the sea. It is situated in the prestigious Monte Pego development of detached villas, located about 10 minutes from the town of Pego and 15 minutes from the lively town of Denia. There are superb beaches within 10 minutes drive and 2 championship golf courses within 15 minutes drive. Supermarkets, banks and restaurants are all within 5 minutes drive. Restaurant, bar, beauty salon within walking distance.

It is the perfect destination both for those who just want to chill out around the pool and soak up the sunshine, as well as those who need a comfortable base from which to explore everything this are has to offer. The resort has a healthy mix of permanent residents as well as holiday home owners which means it is also suited to off-season breaks (average annual temperature is 20 degrees C) .

Our guests choose (and frequently return to) Villa Rosa for a relaxing, quiet holiday in a clean, well-maintained, well-equipped and imaginatively decorated villa.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

There's loads of travel books and websites that descibe the area way better than we could but we chose this spot as the World Health Organisation believes it's one of the best places in the world to live. The average annual temperature is 20C which and although winter days are shorter, makes it an ideal winter or summer destination. Monte Pego itself is an exclusive 'urbanisation', and although some of the homes are private holiday homes, there are plenty which are residential, so it doesn't become like a 'ghost town' out of season.
Take a look at the official website www.comunitatvalenciana.com for more in-depth information.

Denia / Monte Pego area

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is a 10 minute drive from Monte Pego and is sandy with gently shelving shallow water. The Costa Blanca is famous for its miles of beaches. The EU has awarded the region more Blue Flags for clean and safe bathing than any other on the continent. In the summer this stretch of beach is backed by numerous bars and restaurants as well as play areas for the children. Showers and toilet facilities are also available. However, solitude is guaranteed within a few hundred metres of any road access to the beach.

Golf
Club de Golf Oliva Nova: 18 holes, par 72, designed by Severiano Ballesteros. 10 min drive.
Club de Golf 'La Sella': 18 holes, par 72, designed by Jose Maria Olazabal. 20 min drive.
Campo de Golf El Saler: 18 holes, par 72, designed by Javier Arana. Voted 2nd best course in Europe by Golf World and has hosted several Spanish Opens. 60 min drive.
There are also several other courses within easy reach of Monte Pego and at least 10 additional courses within an hour's drive.

Shopping
A big new shopping centre has opened in Ondara, less than 10 minutes drive from the villa, with many shops selling toys, books, sweets, children's clothes, shoes, clothes, handbags (including Zara, Mango, C&A ,Massimo Dutti and United Colours of Benetton), gifts, food, electricals, jewellery etc, all under one roof at excellent prices ....there is also multiplex cinema, 10-pin bowling and many varied restaurants - well worth a visit!
There are local markets to visit every day of the week, and Denia is a delight for those who enjoy 'boutique shopping'.

Ice Skating
Ice World Spain in Benidorm, brand-new indoor rink .. 7.5 euros per person for a two hour session including skate hire!

Markets
Every Spanish town seems to have a weekly market day and this area is no exception. Our favourites are Denia on Monday, Pego on Thursday, Javea (also on Thursday) and Oliva on Friday. They sell a wide range of goods from locally produced fruit and vegetables to kitchen utensils, soft furnishings, clothes, shoes, bric-a-brac and there is often hot food also available

Motorsport
If you're a fan, Valencia is about one hours drive away where the Motorcycling Moto GP and World Superbikes is held. A Formula One Grand Prix was held on the streets of Valencia in August 2008.

Further details
There are several bars, restaurants and a bank on the urbanisation. A bar with Sky TV, an international restaurant and a beauty salon are all within a few minutes walk of the villa. The nearest supermarket is 10 minutes drive.

Other local facilities include Cycling, Fishing, Golf, GoKarting, Horse riding, Parasailing, Sailing, Sightseeing, Snorkeling, Swimming, Tennis Courts, Walking, Water Skiing, Wildlife viewing and Windsurfing. Local boats provide a water taxi service between Denia, Javea and Moraira. There is a narrow gauge railway between Denia and Alicante, laughingly called the Orange Express, which is the best form of transport to view the magnificent scenery.

The mountains behind Monte Pego are beautiful to explore by car. At the villa there is a guidebook to walks in the area, and there also caves and waterfalls to visit within an hour's drive.

The nearest ski-slopes are two hours away to the north at Valdelinares.

Benidorm and Valencia both host concerts by international music stars, and offer a wide variety of night-life.

Villa Rosa is in the urbanisation of Monte Pego, which is an easy 1 hour drive from either Valencia or Alicante airports. These 2 airports are serviced by all the major carriers including Easyjet (www.easyjet.com) and Ryanair (www. ryanair.com). It's worth checking both as you can often save a lot with a little research.
We usually rent cars from www.carjet.com when we stay as they have a good website, low charges and good cars.
We also provide a very detailed information pack on booking, with clear directions how to navigate from each airport to Villa Rosa.

Further details indoors:
The front door opens into the entrance hall, which leads on to the circular lounge. To the left is the dining room and kitchen and to the right is the master and 2nd bedroom. There are fabulous views of the coast from the dining room and lounge and from the patio/terrace, which is accessed from either the dining room or master bedroom (yes, you can sneak out of bed and into the pool and back without going through the house). The 3rd bedroom with it's own en-suite shower room is reached via an external well-lit staircase.

The entrance hall contains our large collection of DVDs, paperbacks, PS2 games . We know it's hard when you're half way through a paperback at the end of a holiday so we try to operate an 'honour system' so feel free to take it and replace it with one you've finished - you get to finish your book and our repeat guests get an ever changing selection.

The lounge contains 2 x 3-seater reclining settees, SatelliteTV (English channels available, but some are lost at night) and PS2/DVD, coffee tables and an open fire. In the dining room there's a dining table with 6 chairs and a sideboard, which contains boardgames, placemats, candles, superglue, binoculars, sewing kit .... all the stuff you find in foreign drawers. On top of the sideboard is a Hi-Fi with separate speakers which also receives radio broadcasts in English (Coast FM) and a small selection of CDs. There's a big archway and worktop to the kitchen, which has marble worktops, twin sinks all the appliances plus a few 'extras' like juicers (manual & electric) coffee maker, etc. We try to work an honour system in the kitchen too so feel free to use any drinks, food, dishwasher stuff, cleaning stuff, etc. but please replace what you finish so the next guests get the same benefits as you did. There is also wifi internet access throughout the villa. The network is secure and we are happy to give you the code if you wish to bring your own laptop.

The master bedroom contains a double bed, full length mirror and dressing room, en-suite bathroom with basin, bidet, wc and bath/shower. The 2nd bedroom contains twin beds and built-in and cupboards, en-suite shower room with basin, wc and massive shower. The 3rd bedroom contains twin beds and built-in and cupboards, en-suite shower room with basin, wc and shower. We have provided an I-pod dock/ with charger and alarm clock-radio and a portable radio/cd player which can be used in any bedroom. Powerful hairdriers are also provided.

For the summer, there are ceiling fans in all living rooms and bedrooms. Air conditioning isn't necessary as Villa Rosa is on a hillside and there is a constant breeze. For the winter there is under-floor central heating in all rooms (included in price).

Further details outdoors:
In the front of the villa there's off road parking for 2 cars and a sheltered terrace with another dining area and a mosaic tile bench beside a 150 year old olive tree, which is an ideal place to sit and soak up the sun.

At the back there's a large terrace with plenty of room for 6 adults to spread out, a floodlit pool (8 by 4m, shelving from 1-2m at the deepest end), a naya (covered seating area) and a shower (hot). There's a dining table with 6 chair, 4 sun loungers and we've also provided a Weber BBQ with plenty of tools - honour system on the charcoal & firelighters again.
