Palmera Park consists of 24 privately owned 'bungalow apartments. A5 is on the first floor, having a private balcony, with a patio table and four chairs, overlooking the delightful gardens and large pool with mountains in the distance. A portable BBQ and two sunbeds and garden chairs are provided for use in the garden. The safe, unspoilt Santa Ana and Les Deveses beaches (famous for windsurfing) are 5 minutes walk away. The area is quiet and uncommercialised, free from package tours. There are a few bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance and a big choice within a short drive. The choice is more limited in winter. A car is essential, although a bus service runs all the round along the coast road into Denia. The historic towns of Denia and Oliva are nearby, each having a good selection of shops, banks, supermarkets and other amenities. Denia is now a fashionable resort but still retains its Spanish charm and local character, with a working fishing fleet and a ferry service to Ibiza and Mallorca. The area has a diverse selection of sporting, cultural and leisure activities, including the local fiestas at various times of the year. The Oliva Nova Leisure and Golf Complex is a few minutes drive away. The apartment is idealily situated for looking around the wider area, including the beaches, mountains and nature reserves. The historic, vibrant city of Valencia is easily reached by road or train. Whether you like walking, sightseeing or relaxing on the beach or in the lovely gardens, you can do it at Palmera Park. Ideal for couples or families.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
The mild sunny climate is an attraction for most people. Even in winter there is frequent sunshine, although it can feel chilly at night and a fleece or light jacket is recommended for walking and the apartment has heaters and winter duvets. July and August are usually the hottest months. The area is fully of history. Denia was a popular western mediterranean port with the Phonecians and the Romans, having a natural deep water harbour. In the middle ages battles were fought between the Moors and the Christians. The Moors sought refuge in the nearby mountains and the 'Last Valley of the Moors' can be visited at Val d'Laguat, with its steps and caves cut into the stone. The Cuevas de las Calavaras (prehistoric caves) are a popular visitor attraction at nearby Benidoleig. The historic city of Valencia is worth a visit, with it's Cathedral, naval and other museums, huge fruit, flower and vegetable market, lovely shops, the City of Arts and Sciences and the Ocenarium. Valencia is host to the finals of the 2007 America's Cup for ocean going yachts, said to be the most prestigous sporting event in the world and the oldest. The Denia and Gandia Marinas are providing moorings and support facilities. Valencia is also world famous for the Fallas Fiesta around the 18th March each year. Smaller Fallas events are held in other towns in the region, including Denia and Gandia. More information about the climate, history and places of interest within the Valencian Region can be found on the Tourist Information web site www.comunitatvalencia.com which has a version in English.
Denia / Les Deveses area
Denia is a fashionable resort which has still retained it's local Spanish Character and has an all year round life, not just dependant on tourism. It has lots to do, with smart shops, tree lined avenues , pavement bars and restaurants. There is a large choice of bars and restaurants to suit all pockets and tastes within a short drive of the apartment. The region is famous for the Valencian Paella, fish and seafood. The battles between the Moors and Christians are commemorated in the famous Denia fiesta in the second week of August, with the big parade on the 15th. Other nearby towns have Moors and Christians fiestas at different times of the year. Other attractions at Denia include the Castle, with its museum and superb views over the bay, the Montgo mountain and natural park, the Marina and yacht club, the fish market with catches landed and sold six days a week and of course, the beautiful long sandy beaches, said to be the best in Spain.
For the more adventurous and sporting, In Denia or Oliva or at Les Deveses, there is quad biking, go karting, fishing, windsurfing, jet sking, boat excursions, mountain bike hire, yachting, tennis, golf, beach volleyball and much more. The aqua parks at Benidorm or Cullera are each 40 minutes drive away. The Terra Mittica theme park (the largest in Europe) is also located just outside Benidorm. The El Vergel Safari Park is a good day out, located only 10 minutes drive away. Denia and nearby Gandia have music festivals, art galleries and programmes of concerts at various times of the year. There are local open air traditional Spanish weekly markets at Denia, Oliva, Gandia, Pego, Pedreguer, Javea and other towns in the area.

Guestbook for Palmera Park A5
We have had a wonderful relaxing holiday here at Palmera Park and will definitely come again. The beach is so quiet and safe. The children loved it.
A spotlessly clean and immaculate apartment, very well equipped. We loved the gardens and had the pool to ourselves. Can we come again please?
There is so much to see and do within a short drive. We've been walking in the mountains and loved the Jalon Valley. The nature reserves at Cabo de Nao and Pego marshes are well worth a visit.
