The Cheshire region
The Peak District’s very special qualities are well known to the people who live in the towns and cities that surround the National Park but for visitors from further away, whether from Britain or abroad, the magic of the Peak District is just waiting to be discovered. Explore some of England’s most spectacular scenery and in the towns, villages and hamlets - amongst the prettiest in the country - you will find a warm and genuine welcome wherever you go. Every taste is catered for and many exciting activities are available.
Delamere Forest is Cheshire's largest area of woodland and is a place for families to let off steam, escape the crowds and find peace in the heart of the forest. Delamere is also a haven for wildlife including the beautiful small tortoiseshell butterfly, greater spotted woodpecker, white faced darter dragonfly, green woodpecker, siskin and southern hawker dragonfly.
Why not bring your horse on holiday with you, we can offer first class stabling, so you can enjoy the hacking through the forest when ever you want. Also within half an hour away there are a number of equestrian centres you can visit, whether it be eventing/farm rides or showjumping.
We have first class facilities all on-site.
Delamere offers great walking and cycling along with a cafe and Information centre as well as a learning programme for schools visiting the forest. For the more adventurous there is a fantastic Go Ape high ropes trail.
Go Ape would be described as a ‘high-wire forest adventure’ (Within a 2 minute walk away). That means we build giant obstacle courses up in the trees using ladders, walkways, bridges and tunnels made of wood, rope and super-strong wire, and top it all off with the country’s best zip lines (including the longest at 426 metres)
