About the home

The Sidings is a house with a contemporary but comfortable feel to it with open plan living space. Location...convenience...in the village is a pub/restaurant, Spar/bakery/garage (both have cashback facility), fish 'n chip shop and post office - also coarse fishing is available at Ferndales. Why not take a guided tour around the slate quarry and museum, see and learn the history of the village then finish your day relaxing with an evening meal at the Port William which overlooks Trebarwith strand beach, children can play pool while you watch the sun set over the sea. Your pets won't miss out either with all the fantastic walks and stunning scenery. Don't forget to bring your kites the cliffs are great for getting them in the air.

Point of interest, The holiday home name 'The Sidings' was given because the road it is in was originally a railway track and the old station house is still standing and lived in.

Take a picnic and bike ride the Camelford trail to Padstow or take the ferry over from Rock. Visit Tintagel Castle and do some scenic cliff walking or Port Isaac to visit Doc Martins TV location, they are all within a 15 min drive. Bodmin is 20 mins away, here you can see the old steam train. Bude and Widmouth Bay are a 30 min. drive and a bit further afield is Newquay, City of Truro and the Eden Project all can be reached within 45 mins.

Facilities

Further details indoors:
Bright and airy open-plan living space with a contemporary feel. The open-plan living room has two sofa beds which opens onto the kitchen/dining room seating 6 (highchair provided).
Through the patio doors is a patio area, garden furniture and a BBQ to make the most of those summer evenings. The kitchen is fitted and has a washing machine, Fridge (small freezer inside), microwave, cooker and hob. It is toddler friendly and a safety pack is provided (plug covers etc.) also a lightweight pushchair to take with you on your adventures for when those little legs get tired. Upstairs (child gate fitted top and bottom) has two double bedrooms, the master bedroom has 2 windows to the front a double bed and travel cot and the other bedroom a window to the rear with a triple bunk bed.

Both bedrooms have a wardrobe, chest of drawers bedside cabinets, dressing mirror and hair dryer. There is a bath/shower and toilet.

Further details outdoors:
The rear garden is enclosed and not overlooked, ideal for toddlers/pets. There is garden furniture, umbrella and a BBQ. Also there is a rotary line.

Also provided is an Ipod dock and Wii plus games. A selection of books, toys, games and DVDs.
The fridge does have a small freezer inside. There is a mixer/blender, a steamer and caffeteire.

A lightweight pushchair and childrens toilet seat are also provided.

“very comfortable well equiped home from home.” We stayed at 8 the sidings for a weeks holiday with my daughter , my son-inlaw and my two 10 year old grandchildren ,we had a week full of things to do .we went to two great places for the children one was Hidden Valley witch kept them on there toes with all the tresure hunting,,code finding and map reading ,and then we went to Lappa Valley witch has got miniture railways and lots of other activities to do both places were pay one price and everything was included witch we thought was great we also went to the old regal cinema in wadebridge ,the eden project and also the local slate quary ,eveywhere we went was only about half an hours drive .when we came back in the evenings the house was well equiped so we didnt need for anything great fish n chip shop in the village and a lovely pub to all in all we had a lovley time .

“One of the best kept properties we have ever stayed in, no expense spared on comfort” Ideal location for touring North Cornwall, Trebarwith beach just 2 miles away was a knockout. The surf school there was brilliant, not to big. Check the tides though, if you turn up at high tide it could be 3 hours before you can get on the beach. Port Isacc not far, nice village, plenty to do. Even and looked at all the film locations for Doc Martin ( Martin Clunes). Newquay was a 40 minute drive but worth it. Excellent for shopping and massive beaches. Nearby Tintagel castle, fabled for the birth of the myth, King Arthur, was brill. Merlins cave, to walk through it from the beach to the rocky outlet the other side was excellent. The location of the house suited us with local pubs, shop and post office. Didnt get a chance to go down the quarry but it looked good. Makes your eyes a bit funny cos its so deep. Familes with small children, say below the age of 7, may struggle with kiddie activities, there are plenty of them in Cornwall but most are 30 min drive or more. My daughter is 12 and we couldnt keep her out of the see. Will definatley return. Many thanks to Wendy,Gordon and Jill the manager. Fantastic.

“An exceptionally well-equipped, comfortable house” We stayed in 8 The Sidings with our 5 year old daughter and found it brilliantly equipped, and very comfortable. The owners have gone to a lot of trouble to provide detailed information on the surrounding area, the house has a Wii plus lots of DVDs, and toys for young children. It is beautifully decorated and furnished. The area itself is very quiet and peaceful. Most places were a short drive away, and there isn't much in Delabole itself, but we didn't find this a problem. We had an extremely enjoyable stay and would highly recommend it.
