This Kent holiday cottage would be ideal for a family break with the use of a stunning indoor heated swimming pool all year round – ideal for entertaining the kids! This self-catering accommodation is newly renovated to an extremely high standard with views of the rolling countryside complete with luxurious traditional furniture to complete the scene. This Kent holiday cottage can be combined with three others to sleep 30 for larger group accommodation or family get together’s in a large holiday house.
This lovely holiday barn is set in a delightful rural setting surrounding by the beautiful Kent countryside with walks and bridle paths for all to use. A particular feature is the shared use of a stunning indoor heated swimming pool complex complete with hot tub, seating area and shower as well as a large family changing room - a wonderful spot to while away a relaxing hour or two after a spot of sightseeing! The owners have thought of everything inside the cottage with luxurious furnishings giving a real feel of comfort and cosiness to your stay. Outside there is a private seating area, lots of parking for all and lovely glimpses through the trees of the surrounding farmland. All in all this would make a wonderful base from which to explore Kent and all it has to offer.

The Franklin is approached through a cottage door into the open plan living area. The first thing you notice as you enter the room is the stunning fully beamed sloping ceiling adding height and creating a feeling of space. Windows surround the front of the barn and allow plenty of natural sunlight to flood into the room. Chinese slate floors covered in luxurious rugs, large cream coloured comfortable sofas are grouped around a log burning stove, the perfect place to huddle around with a cup of cocoa during a winter break. Small tables with stylish lamps as well as under floor heating throughout add to the cosy feel of the room. A 42” flatscreen TV, DVD, Freeview, Ninetendo Wii and Wi-Fi broadband have been provided for your enjoyment. The dining area can seat up to 8 comfortably. The fully fitted kitchen has attractive cream units with light wood work surfaces and is fully equipped with every conceivable appliance including washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven and ceramic hob, extractor fan.
The under floor heating throughout the barn is via an environmentally friendly biomass system using locally sourced renewable energy.
There are three bedrooms. The pretty master bedroom has a wrought iron double bed dressed in crisp white linen and finished beautifully with colourful throws, bedside tables and lamps, the sloping beamed ceiling add to the romantic feel of the room. Freestanding oak wardrobes offer plenty of storage during your stay. The ensuite shower room has a double shower, wc and wash hand basin, heated towel rails ensure that the fluffy towels that the owner has provided will always be warm when you step out of the shower. Bedroom 2 has twin wrought iron beds dressed in cotton bed linen and wardrobe, bedside table and lamps and Bedroom 3 has two single beds. The family bathroom has bath, large walk in shower with hand held shower and overhead shower, heated towel rail, basin and wc. Fluffy cotton towels have been provided by the owner for use during your stay.

Outside, there is a seating area surrounded by communal landscaped gardens. A BBQ has been provided, the perfect place to sit and enjoy an evening meal and a glass of wine. There is ample parking for several cars and the indoor heated swimming pool complex is a short walk away and is shared with the other holiday cottages and the main house.

Kent is in the South-East of England and consists of many important districts such as Dartford, Maidstone, Ashford, Canterbury and Dover.
The centre of Kents arts is Canterbury inspired Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and William Golding worked in Maidstone.
Kent is easily accessible by road, sea or rail. Indeed, Dover is the closest point to France and remains a hub for ferry travel to the rest of Europe.
Tourist Attractions:Canterbury Cathedral, Chartwell, Winston Churchill's home, Deal Castle, Dover Castle, Leeds Castle, Rochester Castle, Coldrum Stones, Brockhill Country Park and many other that you can discover during your holiday.
This is an area of the UK which contains many walking and cycling routes as well as over 500 years of history.
The Deal / West Studdal area
The Franklin is in truly lovely Kent countryside with lots to see and do. The trendy seaside town of Deal is close by with its pier, eclectic boutiques, renowned cupcake shop and fresh fish direct from the beach.
Kent has more castles than any other county so there are lots to explore with the newly refurbished Dover Castle a must – not only does it have one of the largest keeps in the country but the fascinating second world war rooms built into the white cliffs make this a ‘must do’ attraction. For an altogether more homely feel why not visit the beautiful Walmer Castle and Gardens, the home of the Queen Mother for many years. The wonderful gardens of Goodnestone House are within a few miles, renowned for its parkland setting and stunning walled flower garden – a plantsmans dream!
For golfers, there are several excellent links courses, including Royal St Georges at Sandwich and Royal Cinque Ports at Deal, both of which are close by.
The nature reserve at Pegwell Bay, famous for its wildlife is also worth a visit with the lovely sandy beaches of Botany, Westbrook and Joss Bays (all blue flag beaches) are great for a family day out.
For shopping, the outlet centre at de Bradleigh Wharf in Dover Marina is well worth a visit.
