This is an area of the UK which contains many walking and cycling routes as well as over 2000 years of history. Julius Caesar landed in Britain at Deal.
The Deal area
Deal is a fashionable little seaside town and has been recently voted number 1 in the Coast magazine as 'Top Spot' to lay your beach towel. It has been also voted Pier of the Year for 2008 by the National Pier Society.
In the town you will find an array of winding streets of real character and Georgian listed buildings as well as some wonderful local pubs and restaurants offering a pleasant choice of food and drink. Nearby there is the town of Sandwich which offers a charming selection of shops and public houses and you can take a walk around the town and along the river before stopping for a pub lunch.
Back in Deal you can walk along the seafront stopping at both Deal and Walmer's Tudor castles and visit the famous Time Ball tower.
Of course this area is a golfer’s paradise with the golf courses of Royal St Georges at Sandwich, Royal Cinque Ports at Deal, Hythe, Canterbury and North Foreland all within a short drive. Other sporting activities include all the water sports which you would expect to be available and many good fishing possibilities both on the coast and lakes inland.

We recently travelled to Deal for a family wedding and since there were 6 of us, 4 being young children, we thought it best to rent a house. The Bach was a stunning house with all mod cons, very comfortable and exteremely good value for money. We would have absolutly no problems recommending this property to other travellers as it really has everything needed for a more then comfortable stay. The owner, Carol, is easily contacted and a lovely person to deal with. |

We all had a fab. time here. The house is all you could ask for, comfortable, cosy and stylish. The location for us was great, we could walk into Deal along the prom. and visit all the shops, from M&S to local deli. shops and boutiques. Canterbury or Broadstairs are not far, and for us it was just perfect. The owner was always available for contact with any queries and was super friendly. We will certainly come again. |
