The Valenciana region
The village of Daya Nueva is located just inland from the Costa Blanca coastline between the towns of San Fulgencio and Almoradi, the nearest coastal town is Guardamar Del Segura where you will find miles of sandy beaches to enjoy the sunshine and warm clear waters of the Mediterranean.
Daya Nueva is a rural village lying in the Vega Baja region surrounded by orange and lemon groves and is a peaceful place ideally located for visiting the many attractions that the Costa Blanca has to offer.
For golf enthusiasts there are two very nearby courses at La Finca (5* golf and spa) and La Marquesa at Rojales.
Daya Nueva holds its weekly street market on a Tuesday which is a great place to stock up on fresh locally grown produce. Daya Nueva has its own medical centre and some lovely little shops for buying everyday products.
The nearby town of Almoradi has even more to offer and is worth a visit. Here you will find Lidl and Aldi supermarkets.
The Vega Baja town of Almoradi hosts a very popular street market every Saturday morning. The stall holders set up in the streets that surround the beautiful Church Square adding to the atmosphere.
The square itself is well worth a visit, with the beautifully manicured trees and the majestic church which contains a noteworthy organ. Almoradi is also well known for producing hand made furniture.
Places of interest & ideas of things to do in Almoradi
Market: large street market every Saturday morning.
Town Centre: located around the Church of San Andrés which contains an interesting organ.
Ideas of places to twin Almoradi with day or night:
Have a day exploring!! Twin Almoradi with anyone of a number of surrounding small villages like San Fulgencio, Daya Vieja, Formentera or Rojales to get a true feel of what rural Spanish life and living is all about.
Spend a Saturday morning shopping at the thriving street market in Almoradi, then for something completely different head to La Marina beach for a spot of sun bathing in the summer or a leisurely walk in the winter.
Enjoy a coffee in the church square of Almoradi admiring the perfectly manicured trees, before a visit to the picnic area at the base of the Callosa de Segura Mountain where the trees are allowed to run riot, the vistas are stunning and the smell of the pine trees is intoxicating.

"A place in the sun with a taste of the real spain."
We travelled at the beginning of April, flying to Alicante, and found the car journey (approximately 30 minutes) to the house really straightforward as the roads are well sign posted, well maintained and surprisingly free of traffic.
The house is well appointed with a good sized living room, 2 bedrooms and a fully functional kitchen. In addition there are two bathrooms one upstairs and one downstairs meaning no waiting to use the shower or washing facilities.
The front of the house has a secure gated tiled patio area and suitable to park a car or use a play area for children.
On the top of the house, up a proper staircase, there is an open air sun terrace which would be a sun worshippers paradise especially through the summer months.
The rear of the house has a yard area with a working washing machine and at the other side of the gate is a huge, and secure, communal garden area. Here you can laze away your days in the sun, barbecue, make small talk and have a vino or three with the neighbours or watch the farmer tending his fruit (Orange, Lemon and Olive groves) and vegetables (whilst there the farmer and family were filling crates with broccoli to go to market). This is outdoor living at its best and the only time we spent in the house was to sleep.
At the end of the row of houses there is a secure gated (key included with house keys) communal pool and large sun bathing patio which was spotlessly clean. The pool has a paddling pool linked to the main pool and is suitable for both adults and children.
The small town of Daya Nueva is a little gem with a mix of Spanish and ex pat residents with an amazing selection of bars and restaurants offering a variety of good food and drink with some including free tapas with your first drink and the option to purchase more. The bars are well priced (quality wine from 1 euro a large of glass) and many have outside play areas and courtyards to relax.
Be sure to call in at one of the bakeries and sample the home made bread, pastries and cakes you will not be disappointed.
Through the summer months the town has a communal lido style pool with bars and restaurants and a great place for children to meet and parents to make new friends.
Whilst it is possible to get buy speaking English the locals, shop owners and stall holders on the weekly market really appreciate you trying to speak Spanish and gave us a really warm welcome.
Foe those wanting a beach the nearest local resort of Guardamar is less than 10 minutes by car and offers some of the finest beaches in Spain and a beautiful promenade with a selection of quality sea front bars where you can laze away a few tranquil hours again spotlessly clean. Guardamar offers so much more and well worth a look on the internet before you go to check out what's on in addition to an array of attractions.
This review has only scratched the surface of what is available within easy travelling distance of the house.
We will definitely be going back later in the year, for a further taste of this outdoor life and a touch of the 'Real Spain', and also considering the possibility of buying our own place with a view to retiring here in a couple of years.
Many thanks for your great and honest review! It gives potential customers a good insight into life at Daya Nueva - Real Spain! We are glad you enjoyed your stay! Kindest Regards.

"Hidden gem in a fabulous friendly Spanish village."
Great villa with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Its only a couple of minutes walk & you are in the centre of the village with bars & restaurants and shops & wonderful bakeries. Communal pool was clean and very nice to use.
The property has a great garden at the back to sunbath in. A real sun trap.
We will certainly return next year.
