About the home

?Le Domaine? is set in the heart of the Landes countryside in the village of Cassen, 20 kilometers away from the Roman spa town of Dax, 40 minutes from the beaches of the Landes, and 60km from Biarritz airport. This is an ideal place to relax in the heart of Chalosse, land of gastronomy.
The village of Cassen has a small selection of shops and services (2 km away) and there are supermarkets at Montfort en Chalosse (7 km away).
On site there is a reception, a bar with breakfast area, a lounge, a business centre with WIFI access, a laundry with coin/token operated washing machines, and there is a free car park for every accommodation.
The residence has a large outdoor swimming pool with sun terrace (free access). An indoor pool, a fitness room, steam room and jacuzzi are available at a small charge.
Please note that for all bookings made before 31/05/2012 for all stays before 7/07 and after 1/09/2012, you will get a free access to the wellness area (indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, fitness room).
There are tennis courts, boules pitches, table tennis, beach soccer and beach volley grounds, a 9 holes mini golf, a children?s playground, and in July and August a children's club (6-10 years old).
Balls, rackets, boules, and board games can be loaned from reception.
This residence is made up of 90 semi detached houses divided into apartments constructed from wood, and south-facing. All apartments are fully furnished, and include blankets and pillows. They all have air conditioning and hardwood floors.
Every apartment has a south facing balcony with garden furniture and sun loungers.
We have selected 2 different sizes of accommodations:
the one bedroom apartments for 2/4 people, and the two bedroom apartments for 4/6 people. If you are unable to find the size of apartment you require, please contact us with the number of people in your party.
Some apartments have handicapped access; please ask at the time of booking.
The 4 to 6 person apartment measures approximately 40m². It has a fitted kitchen with fridge, dishwasher, vitro ceramic hob, and microwave.
There is a seating area with a double sofa bed, 1 bedroom with a double bed, 1 bedroom with twin beds, 1 bathroom, and separate toilet.
Please note that, for security reasons, this apartment can only accommodate a maximum of 6 people, and that a baby is considered as a person.

Facilities

Further details outdoors:
The residence offers guests free use of the outdoor swimming pool (170m² with paddling pool 40 m²) with sun terrace (open from April to the end of September from 10 am to 7 pm).
In July and August, you will find a snack bar and a breakfast area around the pool, and there is organised entertainment during the day for teenagers and adults (sport tournaments and activities), and themed evenings once or twice a week (with small charge).
Quad, horse riding, poney club, kayak canoe and rafting are also part of the activities offered with extra charge.
There are numerous possibilities for safe cycling and mountain bike trails in the forest close by. Bicycles can be hired from reception (payable).

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Landes region

Travel inland from Bordeaux to Dordogne, one of the most beautiful natural regions in France, with slow rivers sometimes cutting through spectacular steep limestone valleys, riddled with caves, many containing world-famous prehistoric paintings.. A region proud of its gastronomic specialities (foie gras, truffles, cheeses, chocolate …), food lovers and gourmets will savour the traditions of good living and eating well. "Land of Prehistoric man", the Dordogne is bursting with superb prehistoric sites, which trace of the birth of human existence, such as the famous Lascaux caves. Nesting on a cliff, Nontron is famous for its hand-crafted knife with its pale wooden handle and carved motifs, it is the most ancient of folding knives. La Dordogne, land of contrast and of sweet living !! Places to discover : Visit the nice old town of Nontron : remnants of the town"s 13th century ramparts ; half-timbered houses and ancient quarters many houses dating from the 15-17th century. And the famous Périgord-Limousin National Park aswell as Villard caves, the Lascaux caves, and Limoges .
