GREAT POSITION FOR BEACH AND EXPLORING SOUTH DEVON
Situated in the coastal town of Dawlish, this delightful cottage is within easy walking distance of beach, cafes, restaurants and shops and also in the perfect location for exploring South Devon. The long, sandy blue flag beach at Dawlish Warren is perfect for family days out, with safe bathing and a welcoming nature reserve. Dawlish is on the rail network and its renowned coastal train ride gives easy links along the coast to Teignmouth, Torbay, Exeter city and beyond.

The Exe estuary offers water sports, cycle tracks and sea cruises, The cottage is close to Manor Gardens with its children’s play area and park beyond, giving access along a footpath following the Brook down through the town, past Dawlish Lawn to the beach.

The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 double and 1 twin (3' beds). Bathroom: with bath, shower, bidet and WC. Lounge/diner: with TV, DVD, and wood burning stove. Kitchen: with cooker, microwave, fridge, and door to sunny patio. The washing machine and tumble drier are in the porch. Outside: front patio with patio furniture. Amenities: parking for 1 car . Bed linen, electric and gas central heating included. Regret no smoking. 1 pet welcome.

The West Country / Devon region

Dawlish is on the coast path and cycle route with beautiful beaches. Dawish Warren is a blue flag beach and nature reserve which is just 1.5 miles away.

Exeter, Teignmouth and Torquay are just down the coast accessible by car and rail. South Devon has many places of interest and Dartmoor National Park is nearby.

The Dawlish area

Dawlish is a pretty coastal town with The Brook running through the centre with its famous black swans. Shops, pubs and restaurants are all within walking distance and there is a small amusement park and crazy golf course down by the sea.

Dawlish has its own its own indoor swimming pool and leisure centre and cycle hire is available in the town.

“Cosy Comfy Cottage” We had a lovely week in the cottage with our daughter and her partner.The cream tea was lovely to find on arrival, as was the milk and bread. The cottage is comfy, cosy and very thoughtfully equipped. The short walk into Dawlish was ideal for shops, amusements and eating places.The riverside walk is very pretty. The train was handy for car-free travel. It was easy to walk to Dawlish Warren where our other daughter and family were camping.

“A lovely holiday cottage” My mother and I spent a week at Fox Cottage and found it comfortable and well-equipped. On arrival we found the cottage to be clean and welcoming, with a cream tea awaiting us. The beds, too, proved to be very comfortable. Mod cons include wi-fi, washing machine, tumble dryer, large TV, radio and DVD player. The location is exceptionally quiet (a backwater with virtually no passing traffic) yet within five or 10 minutes walk of anything you need in Dawlish. The park and the river (with its famous black swans) are just a couple of minutes walk away and there is a pedestrian path along the riverside down to the seafront. There are also pubs, restaurants and shops nearby. We found Dawlish a good base for our exploration of the coast and of Dartmoor and liked the fact that the town is quite compact. The provision of a private parking space at the cottage is another plus point. Good communication throughout from the owners, Charles and Judy.

“Lovely comfortable cottage in close proximity to shops, sea and public transport” Fox cottage is a very comfortable, warm cottage, finished to a very high standard. It has every facility you could wish for including log burner, washing machine and tumble dryer - what a bonus!! It is situated near to the centre of Dawlish within easy walking distance to shops, beach, coastal path bus stops and train station. As the cottage has an off road parking space we were able to leave the car safely for the week whilst we walked or used public transport. We would certainly recommend a stay at the cottage. (The owners even left us a Devon cream tea and bottle of milk which was very welcome after a long journey).

“Excellent,clean everything we needed highly recommend” Excellent cottage clean everything we needed home from home.Ideally situated for shops,beach,coastal walks&train station for going further afield.Set in a quiet location with off road parking log burner was a lovely bonus,would highly recommend&will visit again.

“Lovely clean and comfortable cottage for an enjoyable week in Dawlish” I can only echo the comments in the first two reviews of Fox Cottage. We had a lovely stay in the cottage. It's nicely decorated, well equipped and there were two great surprises, first the on site parking and secondly the WiFi which was a great bonus for being able to research and plan our outings.The owner is also very pleasant to deal with and answered our queries promptly. I would be happy to recommend Fox Cottage to others

“Would definitely recommend” Have just spent a week here. A cosy cottage in a quiet location. Freshly decorated, furnished and clean. Better than the photos show and off street parking space. We found the beds comfortable and a lovely scone tea welcome on our arrival. The location is very near local shops for newspaper & other provisions. Lots to do in Dawlish. Great museum and restaurants, park with black swans and stream running through. Large beach and fantastic walks. Very pretty hinterland as well. Buses every 20 mins to nearby towns and regular trains along the spectacular coastline. Would definitely recommend Fox Cottage.

“Excellent cottage. Cosy and welcoming!” We were lucky eough to be the first to stay at Fox Cottage. It is in a brilliant location, a short walk into Dawlish. The cottage is very clean, with excellent facilities. Its great for families with young chilren as the stairs are safe (door in the lounge and a stairgate at the top). We would definately stay there again. It would be lovely in the winter with the log burner in the lounge. There are loads of nice places to eat close by, and a selection of takeaway menus for places that deliver. The nearest shop is about a 5 minute walk. Overall, a very nice cottage. Alread recommended it to a few of my friends! The pictures on the website really don't do it justice!
