"Hedgehog retreat"

Very enjoyable place to stay, only down factor was the internet. Travelling in the height of summer around Cornwall very tiring. But cottage first class. Tennis court was good, but the leaves had star… More

"The perfect place to stay."

We stayed at Hedgehog Retreat in August 2013 and it was the perfect place to stay. The rooms were a good size and it came with everything we needed to be equipped for a week away. A home from home.

The owner had a travel cot and highchair already there which was perfect for our one year old daughter. They also provided lots of information of places to visit and eat which was brilliant as we had never been to cornwall before.

Hedgehog retreat is in a lovely quiet location with a tennis court and the faint sounds of animals as you walk out of your door which was just beautiful. It was so lovely and relaxing there. Also our longest journey was only about an hour so car journeys were short for our little daughter to any of the beautiful places we wanted to visit which was brilliant.

We couldn't have wished for a nicer and more beautiful place to stay for our first family holiday. We can't wait to book for next year. Thank you.

"Perfect Retreat !"

Hedgehogs Retreat is just that - a perfect retreat and a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy the great beaches and coastal walks in North Cornwall. We stayed in 2011 and enjoyed it so much came back again in April 2012. The cottage is on a very quiet site with a free tennis court. Everything that you could possibly need for a self-catering holiday is in the cottage, which is very tastefully decorated and has very comfortable beds - just what you need after all the fresh sea air and coastal walks!
The owners have provided lots of info. - maps, places of interest, walks etc. We tried several local pubs that served great freshly cooked food and lots of real ales to try.
We visited Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac, Padstow, all within easy reach of the cottage. The cycle ride along the Camel trail from Wadebridge to Padstow is a great way to avoid the busy car parks in Padstow (free parking at Wadebridge), the views along the estuary are superb and the Cornish pasty we ate sitting in the sunshine at the harbour was a real feast!

Can't wait to book our next visit to the cottage.
