Home description

Relax under the covered lanai, soak up the sun on the extended sun deck or take a gentle swim in the beautiful south-west facing pool which has the sun from 10am until sunset. What could be better in between busy days at the theme parks. Both mastersuites have direct access to the pool area with main access through the lounge and there is a child safety fence to keep the little ones safe at all times.

Inside this comfortable villa there is everything you could wish for including games, books, DVD's to keep everyone amused and the games room with it's 7ft pool table, foosball table and darts board, has proved a big hit with adults and children alike. As our most recent guests said "villa is very well equipped and then some".

We provide free unlimited internet access, free local phone calls, hair dryers in all bathrooms, free use of highchair, stroller and all the equipment for the disabled or infirm (all used at renters risk of course). Our aim is to give everyone the best holiday of their lives and our local management team work with us on this very enthusiatically.

Although the villa sleeps eight, there is a double-bed sofa in the lounge and a travel cot for the tiny children.

Disabled guests please note: This is a very spacious villa with plenty of room to manouvre a wheelchair however, like most Orlando villas, the toilets are narrow and not suitable for wheelchair access.

The Florida / Orlando Disney Area

The official name for Florida is the sunshine state and Orlando is a great place to visit all year round. Even the winter months are better than a sunny day in England and it is so wonderful to sit outside early in the morning and watch the sun rise or late in the evening to watch it set. My husbands daily comment is "oh, this is the life"

Of course Disney, Sea World and Universal are the obvious attractions but there is so much more to the area if you have the time to look and a little help with the information (leaflets on lots of activities and places of interest are in the villa). Local private airfields offer a fantastic opportunity to view the local area by helicopter or light aircraft and some helicopter rides start from as little as $15. Gatorland is one of Orlando's oldest parks and here you can get up close with an alligator. Cypress Gardens is another good place to visit and, if you turn right out of Calabay Parc onto the H27, then keep driving along this road you can't miss the signpost directing you to it.

Kennedy Space Centre is definitely a place to go even if you aren't all that interested in such things. It's quite a humbling experience to view these magnificent space rockets and the shuttle up close and even climb on board. It really is an amazing place.

If you are interest in visiting the beach then Calabay Parc is only one and half hours drive from the Gulf of Mexico with it's pure white and spotlessly clean sands and warm waters then you have the beaches on the Atlantic coast about an hours drive away.

Davenport / Calabay Parc area

Golfers love Calabay Parc because of it's proximity to some world class golf courses where visitors are made welcome and where charges aren't too high. The Champions Gate 36 hole golf course, which was designed by Greg Norman, is only a few minutes drive away.

Although Calabay Parc comes under Davenport, don't be confused when you look at a map because Davenport itself is some 15-20 minutes drive away and further away from Disney.

This local area is being developed very quickly with more residential estates and therefore, more facilities, which can only be good news. Turning left out of the estate takes you to a shopping mall where you can find a Publix grocery store, Applebees restaurant plus other useful places and, continuing down this road, past the turn off to the 192 and Disney, you can find a very well stocked Wal-Mart. If you prefer a change then turn right out of Calabay and along this road you will find a Domino's pizza, a Chinese to Go and a Beef o'Brady's restaurant. Only five minutes along this road you will also reach a Bob Evans restaurant which is highly recommended for the excellent food at reasonable prices, a Perkins restaurant and a Wendy's burger bar.

One wonderful thing about Orlando and the Floridian people is their love of children and all are made welcome in local restaurants. The service is excellent and the staff so helpful and friendly.

How to get there

We usually find flying with Virgin airlines the easiest and cheapest. Car hire we usually get through Dollar and can be pre-paid in the UK.

We send complete direction details once full payment has been received. Although Calabay Parc is classed as Davenport, we are off the US27 and close to the US192. Travel time to the Disney turn off is 16 minutes from the front door.

The villa has two dining areas. One breakfast knook which has six chairs and a more formal dining room, also having six chairs plus there are three bar stools for the kitchen bar.

The pool area has four luxurious chairs around the pool dining table, two full sun loungers and a reclining chair with footstool. Also in the garage are another four pool chairs, two loungers and another table.

There is ample china for eating in and plastic plates, dishes etc for outside dining, lots of glasses, cups, cutlery etc and a good supply of pool towels. The coffee maker is a Brewstation so the last cup tastes as good as the first even hours after you have made it.

Calabay Parc is fortunate to have a Home Owners Association that takes care of all the outside areas so the grass and plants are kept in the very best condition making this estate something pleasant to drive into. All of the pool/deck area is covered by a screen to keep out any insects and there is a fan in the covered lanai area for those very hot days.

Our management team are English and very friendly indeed so you can feel comfortable should you ever have to contact them and they will respond very quickly indeed should you encouter a problem.

We can also supply two types of welcome pack so you don't have to go shopping as soon as you arrive and we always try to leave a supply of dishwasher/washing powder which we ask guests to replenish should they use it.

By "disabled friendly" we mean we have included items specifically for the disabled or infirm. These include cork bath mats to avoid slipping in the shower; a shower/bath seat; support rails in the second master suite shower as well as a support rail to the pool. Like most Florida villas, ours is wheelchair accessible however, I would not say it is ideally suited to a wheelchair because we have step in showers and none of the kitchen cupboards have been lowered.

Conditions

We ask for a £150/$250 per week deposit to on booking. Confirmation of booking will be given once this payment has been received and cleared our bank.

Full payment is due eight weeks prior to departure together with a £200 /$350security deposit. This security deposit will be refunded within two weeks of your return subject to no breakages/damage to the villa.

We can accept personal cheques or credit card payment via Paypal or, if you have online banking, you can pay directly into our bank account.

Guestbook

Fantastic villa to come home to after a day at the parks. Just like a home from home. We especially loved the games room where us boys were kept amused while the ladies relaxed.

What a beautiful villa, so very well equipped and then some. Our grandchildren especially loved the pool and the games room. It's so comfortable - just like at home. The books, games and cuddly toys were very much appreciated.
