About the home

An oasis of calm within striking distance of Disney and Legoland. Located on a gated community of just 110 homes, our home is the perfect place to kick back and relax. De-stress with the view over the lake and listen and look at the abundant wildlife. Hard to imagine that you are only five minutes drive from I-4 and Champions Gate, with its two Greg Norman-designed national/international golf courses. CVS pharmacy, Publix supermarket, Gas station, PapaJons pizza, Wells Fargo bank and McDonalds are even nearer. Self-catering is a breeze but Chilis(at Champions Gate) offers a varied menu and it's always Happy Hour for Mojitos,Margheritas,Bud or whatever else takes your fancy. And the balloon man keeps the kids amused. The layout of the home is really sociable, while offering everyone their own space. Perfect for a "gathering of the clan" or two/three families sharing. The fully-equiped laundry room means you can travel light. The games table(billiards/pool, air hockey and table tennis) will keep young and old amused(and fit!). The home, which sits on a 1/4 acre plot, has been newly decorated inside and out,new carpets to all bedrooms and complete new lawn laid in December 2011.

Property is located within a cul-de-sac of just six homes so no "through" traffic. Around the pool there are six sunloungers and table and chairs for outside eating/drinking. The location is private and not overlooked;opaque screening has been added to the base of the pool screening to enhance privacy, whilst not obscuring the view across the lake.

The Florida / Orlando Disney Area region

Climate- warm,hot or very hot. What to do? Well, where to start ;there's so much to say? Theme parks abound-Disney,Universal Studios,Sea World and, as of October 2011, the largest Legoland in the world,at Winterhaven. All within 10 miles of the property. Plus Kennedy Space Center, Gatorland and numerous other water parks. Boggy Creek(around 40 minutes drive) offers one of the best airboat ride locations. Go for the longer(45minute) ride if your budget allows;the boats are smaller, can access more areas and provide better views/photo opportunities for the alligators and birdlife.

They go faster too! But there is more to Central Florida than organised parks and tours, so don't miss out on the wildlife-herons, hawks, egrets, dragonflies and butterflies, to name a few. A day at the Gulf coast or Atlantic
coast is doable, only around an hour's drive.

The Davenport / Grand Reserve area

Champions Gate Resort is "on the doorstep" if you fancy a round of golf on one of two PGA courses designed by Greg Norman, a links course (international) and a parkland course(national). Go to www.championsgategolf.com for more details. Good restaurant too. And, of course, the shopping malls-too many to list. In the summer you will often see hot air balloons taking off from field close to the eastern side of I-4 across from Champions Gate. Go to Celebration(15 minutes towards Orlando on I-4) and stroll around a community designed on a nostalgia theme, check out the Thai and Italian restaurants or take in a movie at the '50s style cinema.

And if you like seeing how the other half (or maybe 1%) live wander down the road with $5-10million dollar homes.

Sanford International airport(one hour's drive) served by Thomson and others. Orlando International(half hour's drive) served by BA, Virgin Atlantic,and others. All the major hire car companies operate from both airports, including Hertz,Alamo,Dollar, Avis etc. Good deals can often be obtained online from other sites,including Travel Republic.
Property is located around 5 minutes off I-4 exit 58(the turning for Champions Gate). From either airport take exit 58,keep left on slip road, take CR 528 left at lights and proceed about one mile to Lake Wilson Road.Turn right on Lake Wilson Road at traffic lights and go straight for around one mile to t-Junction,Ronald Reagan Parkway. Turn left at lights on Ronald Reagan Parkway and the entrance to Grand Reserve will be found around 200 yards on the right.

“The Perfect House” This is the second time we have stayed at this rental and I think that says enough. The house is very spacious with very nice furniture and amenities. The kitchen is where we spent most of our time and it is PERFECT! The bedrooms are big and with 4 in-suite bathrooms there is plenty of room and privacy. Dining room table, eat-in kitchen table and a large bar height countertop with 5 stools gives you plenty of room for a large group. With Inground Pool, Hot Tub, and Game Room there is always something to do. We have already inquired about staying later this year.
