The villa is ideal for families and couples alike. No expense has been spared in furnishing it from the comfortable sofas to the king-size bed in the master bedroom. Sliding doors lead onto the large terrace where you can relax in the evening on the swinging chairs sipping a chilled wine and look over the illuminated swimming pool to the lights of the town beyond.
We have a large selection of DVDs including kids viewing. If you would rather not watch TV there is a selection of board games and books. Wireless internet has recently been installed and we've also recently installed an iPod docking station so bring yours along and listen to your favourite tunes whilst relaxing (this will also charge your iPod, so no need for heavy chargers in your luggage!!) Upstairs in the master bedroom we have a set of binoculars which will enhance the already fantastic views. Great for budding astonomers as well!!
I have recently purchased a baby cot which is ideal for babies up to 2 years, it will also double as a play pen as it is soft and comfortable.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
The Datça – or to give it its Ottoman name, Resadiye – peninsula is renowned throughout Turkey for its natural beauty and climate. Strabon of Cappadocia (56BC – 21AD), one of the first philosophers to relate climate to health, said, “God sends his subjects to whom he wants to give long and healthy lives to Datça…” We can’t promise you that but we can certainly guarantee an unforgettable experience!
The road from Marmaris follows the spine of the peninsula with dramatic and panoramic views of the Aegean on one side and the Mediterranean on the other. The beach at Ovabuku just 20 minutes drive away is the best beach in Turkey according to the Guardian.... http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2010/jun/22/turkey-top-10-beaches
Picturesque coves with crystal clear waters are spread along the route leading to the harbour town of Datça.
Datça has a very Turkish feel with relatively few foreign visitors. A wide choice of restaurants is spread between the two natural harbours and the overall environment allows you to get a real feel for traditional Turkish life.
Pine forests are intermingled with oak, myrtle, gum and carob trees. Almond trees, olive and citrus groves, grapevines and all manner of herbaceous plants are there to be discovered as you explore the mountains, valleys and plains of the peninsula.
The region is particularly historically rich as it was one of the most important commercial and cultural centres throughout the Aegean and eastern Mediterranean from the times of Ancient Greece through to the Byzantium Period.
The ancient site of Knidos was the centre of all this activity.
The villages of the Datça Peninsula provide the ideal location for those looking to escape completely from modern-day tourism as we know it. There’s plenty for the active to experience, but it’s also a great place to just relax.
The Datca area
Datca is less than an hours drive from the bustling resort of Marmaris but the pace of life here is slower and more relaxing. The locals are really friendly and welcoming. The town has plenty of great shops and restaurants (especially if you're keen on trying the local cuisine). Our personal favourite is the new restaurant at the historic renovated windmill just outside the town. They make all their own food and I can assure you that you won't be dissapointed.
There is a great beach beside the harbour in the town area and plenty more coves and beaches just a few minutes drive or a bus ride away. Boat trips are available to the nearby Greek Isles, the large resort of Bodrum or to the ancient ruins of Knidos at the end of the peninsula. There are sailing schools and diving clubs available along with a great new waterpark/restaurant just 10 minutes drive away. Hiking is a popular pastime in the mountainous terrain.
Every Saturday there is a large market in the town which is a must for bargain hunters.

First of all, I would just like to say how hospitable and helpful Stephen, the owner, is. Nothing is too much trouble and everything you need is right there in the villa, including 2 lovely new mountain bikes! We stayed for 4 nights at the end of August with our 2 young boys, who absolutely loved the pool and would have stayed in it all week if we had let them! A lovely villa and beautifully appointed with everything you will need for a great holiday. Villa - very spacious with two balconies, the top one affording great views over the sea to Simi. 2 out of 3 bedrooms were air-conditioned which is a necessity in the Summer months. The pool area is very nice too with privately owned sunbeds and a splash pool for younger children. Location - out of the way of Datca centre and thus immune to the wailing of the mosque but near enough to get in and out of by way of a local bus (every half hour) or taxi. There are a couple of local shops/small supermarket nearby for essentials. Out and about - aside from the main beaches in Datca and the mud bath, you should take the bus from the central station to Mesiduye, a lovely quiet beach with a couple of nice restaurants. Takes about 30-40 minutes and costs £2-3 each way. Also, take a boat out for the day, either privately (although this can be costly in high season) or on a day-trip to Knidos. Use Migros for your main shop but the market for specifics such as salad (the rocket is fantastic) and other veg. Food in restaurants is fairly priced although alcohol is very expensive but you can haggle this down a bit (before you sit down though). The Windmill is also a lovely restaurant a short taxi ride out of town with lots of superb meat dishes on the menu but hardly any fish as Zaynep, the chef, doesn't like cooking that! Overall, a very relaxed and enjoyable stay, definitely one to remember. Thank you Stephen. |

We very much enjoyed staying at the villa, which has everything you need for a comfortable holiday. Datca is a lovely town that still remains relatively free of mass tourism. Both the owner and the villa manager in Turkey were very helpful. The whole family had a relaxing holiday and we would definitely come here again. |

We have just returned from a holiday to this villa. The accommodation is comfortable, with stunning views from the 1st floor. The site where the villa is situated is very quiet and there was always ample room around the swimming pool. It is a pleasant walk along the seafront into Datca town which is relatively unspoilt by tourism. Would recommend taking a phrasebook as not many people speak English in the town, but the people are very friendly and helpful. There are some lovely bays to visit. We hired a car which we found convenient but most places could be reached by dolmus or boat. We would definitely return and recommend it as a quiet holiday retreat. |
