The apartment is on the top floor with no lift. Flowers fill the garden behind the apartment, geraniums, petunias, lemon verbena, many varieties of lantana.
The apartment is at the end of the road and thus very quiet at all times of the day and night. It is safe to walk to many destinations from the apartment and there is a hill going down into the town. A car would be helpful but not mandatory if visiting for under 2 weeks.
There is a car hire in Datca in case you want to explore for a few days but the bus system and taxis are very adequate.

The apartment has been built 4 years ago and is a beautiful complex mixture of villas, residences and apartments. The architecture is of an Ottoman style with a mixture of marble, wood and tile throughout.
The Turkish Aegean Coast region
Visit Datca. The Datca Peninsula creates a ripple between the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas on the most southwestern coastal region of Turkey also known as the Turquoise Coast. Long noted for its windsurfing championships due to the winds blowing over the slim peninsula, Datca boasts of opportunities for bicycling, hiking, swimming, and beach combing.
The sea’s warmth entices swimmers for six months of the year. Boat trips for swimming and snorkelling frequent the charming international harbour alongside glamorous yachts from across the globe.
Datca retains a village life atmosphere as fisherman earn their livelihoods from daily catches their colourful boats and nets drying on the harbour walls. Restaurants, open air cafes, and shops of beautiful Turkish carpets, pottery and art fill the immediate environs with gay and cheerful ambiance.
Datca is conveniently reached by air from either Dalaman or Bodrum/Milas airports. Charters carry passengers from northern Europe airports such as London, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Oslo, etc. bypassing a stop in Istanbul. Car rental is reasonable at both Dalaman and Bodrum airports. While a car is not vital to a successful trip to staying at the Zeytin Dali complex, convenience is provided. Buses run frequently everywhere and within Datca there are always taxi willing to carry you home.
From the harbour to the apartment, the cost of a taxi is $5.00 which may seem fairly reasonable late at night when a walk up the hill is not desired.
An old legend clings to Datca of the ancient Greek philosopher, Strabon, advising those who wish to live a long life to travel to Datca for the extra oxygenated air. The air is just one aspect of Datca’s promotion of good health. Swimmers year round may submerge into the warm springs lake flowing into the harbor. Incredible bounty of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts are sold at the weekly market inspiring healthy cooking. Farmers’ produce from the local growers complement the olives, honey and almonds from the orchards. Cheeses, yoghurts and eggs widen the eyes.
Cook yourself or allow yourself to be pampered gastronomically by the local chefs of the numerous restaurants nearby. There are plenty of local butchers, fish shops, grocery stores to fulfill a whim of any kind such as the Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream from America that I had a craving for. Whether it is the higher O2 in the air, the warm springs, the garden bounty, or the swimming in the beautiful sea, a holiday here will promote relaxation and rejuvenation of body, mind, and spirit.
Zeytin Dali is a recently built apartment and villa complex up the hill from the town centre. The apartments and villas in Zeytin Dali circle several swimming pools, tennis court, and table tennis enclosures. Flowers line the cobblestone paths in between the buildings with tyme and rosemary lingering in the air. The builders prided themselves on creating an Ottoman style using half timbers, tile and marbles, and mosaics.
The apartment is a 15 minute walk to the harbor shops and 10 minute walk to the beach and boardwalk. There is a bus stop on the corner 5 minutes away where one may catch us bus to town, the harbour, local and peninsula beaches, Marmaris, and beyond. Buses begin service early in the day until late evening but always check the current schedules at the otogar in town. Several Internet cafes compete for your email or printing needs at reasonable access costs.
