The Ionian Islands region
Corfu Town has all the style and sophistication of any cosmopolitan centre and yet it is steeped in historical character and age old traditions.
Old Fortress: The first settlement of the new Corfu Town during the 6th century started on the hill that would later become the Old Fortress. Built and fortified by the Venetians.
New Fortress: The walls of the New Fortress tower above the north-western side of the Old Town.
Achilleion Palace: This famous building was constructed in 1892 for Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Princess Sissy).
The Esplanade: The hub of Corfiot life is the Esplanade. Stroll around the gardens or sit in one of the many cafe bars.
Palace of St George and St Michael: Is the most impressive monument from the British rule of Corfu. Archaeological Museum: The pride of the museum is the ‘Gorgon Pediment’ that is the oldest surviving monumental sculpture in Greece.
Dassia is one of the most beautiful and well known resorts in Corfu, where visitors return year after year. Dassia has an abundance of quality restaurants offering a good selection ranging from traditional Greek cuisine and unique Corfiot dishes to Italian and Indian. For those on a budget you can get a good three course meal for under £ 10 and sample quality Greek cuisine for just a few pounds. There are plenty of tavernas to choose from which is one of the main reasons we would not recommend any of the all-inclusive on offer in the resort. There is a good range of both basic tavernas and quality restaurants to keep everyone happy. The Greeks adore children and they are more than welcome in most bars and restaurants.
Activities near Dassia: Tennis in Dafnila, bird watching, cycling, fishing, gymnasium, health spa, horse riding, night life, sailing, scuba diving, walking, water sports.
Aqualand: Corfu's water park, is great fun for all ages. Situated in the Ropa Valley, just 20 min drive from Dassia, the park has a great selection of slides and rides, a lazy river and pool.
Nightlife in Dassia: Evening entertainment in Dassia is relaxed, laid back and varied. There are enough bars to keep everyone happy, but Dassia is not a lively nightclub resort as such. There are no clubs, but there are two very lively disco bars that are open well into the early hours. There are also lively bars on the beach.
Other activities available are organized excursions to Corfu town, tours of the island and to nearby Albania , walking trips in the surrounding countryside, diving excursions. You can rent a car or scooter to explore the island at your own pace, but there is also a frequent bus service to Corfu town and to the beautiful village of Kassiopi which stops at a multitude of small secluded bays such as the beautiful fishing villages of Nissaki, Kerasia, Kouloura and Agni, where you can enjoy a swim and a bite.
Distances: Local supermarket and bakery 300 m, 24 h bank-cash 300 m.
Golf: The golf course is approx 30 min drive and located in Ermones. The golf course is the most beautiful in whole Greece and it attracts a big number of golf players from all around the world, it has a great landscape and it is also suited for walking.

"Perhaps a little overpriced?"
This is indeed a very spacious property, ample enough for a large group, the photographs however were clearly dated as much of the property and furnishings are in need of some TLC. Unfortunately there… More
We are surprised the way you describe your stay in our villa this September. All the reviews we have received until now were extremely good and all our guests left St. Nicholas house & apart. with great
impressions. All the problems you had during your stay were caused by storm and very bad weather that week. It is a common problem with electricity for every island after so much rain. Unlucky moment was with a boiler but that could happen in each house, any time, all around the world.
Immediately after we sent electrician who fix it, which means good service.
Small beach near the house was not in very good condition also because of stormy weather.
We are sorry for the money you lost but you should be more concerned about your personal belongings and our cleaning lady is a person we trust, who does her job perfect for last few years.
When Dinos asked you to report the theft to the police you refused to do it? Wonder why?
After reading your review it seems that nothing good happen to you that week! Just to remind you:
free transport from and back to the airport, after your arrival we went together for a shoping in a super market, free mini bus for a day to explore the island and last day instead to leave the villa in the morning (check out time) you stay in all day for a free to enjoy the last sunny day by the pool.
Everything would be much better if you were more lucky with a weather. Unfortunately we could not do much about that?
With all my respect

"A fantastic vacation"
The house is at the periphery of Dassia, a 15 Minutes drive along the main road north of Corfu town. It is located in a quiet quarter, surrounded by other villas. The house is very spacious and well furnished. It's not like a typical holiday apartment. You feel at home instantly. Thus the house is so big that even bigger groups can stay there and everyone will find his own cozy place. The house got cleaned by a (British) cleaner, twice a week. She did an excellent job. Everything was really clean.
The owner Dinos was a great landlord. He took care of the house and its surroundings with love and an eye for details. This also includes the pool, which was always in perfect condition. Dinos was a wonderful help for excursion ideas or any other question we had. I once had a flat tire after I arrived by ferry and he promptly organized the repair for my car.
Our stay in Corfu was early in the year (April) but the weather was already wonderful and the pool/sea adequately warm for swimming.
We had a wonderful time in a great house. We still talk about this fantastic vacation, weeks later and we still appreciate Dino's warm welcome. We met only for a short time but it felt like being family.
Thank you very much for your kind words! We are pleased you had wonderful time in Corfu and our villa. We are hopping to welcome you again in the future.
