Darte House is a superb detached property enjoying fabulous views across the River Dart to Kingswear, the mouth of the river and beyond. Situated in an elevated position in a popular residential area and providing spacious accommodation with three bedrooms each offering views across the River. The property also benefits from a double carport and a roof garden, again offering stunning views across the River and an ideal place for entertaining and eating alfresco during your stay.
Open Plan Living Area
Situated on the lower ground floor this is a marvellous open plan living area with windows to the rear offering wonderful views across to Kingswear. The room is furnished with a corner leather sofa, matching two seater sofa and a single leather chair, wooden dining table and six chairs. Entertainment is provided by a flatscreen TV with freeview, Bluray player, a provision of books, games and DVDs as well as the availability of Wi-Fi. The lounge opens directly into the kitchen area with a range of contemporay high gloss kitchen units with a full compliment of fitted appliances including a dishwasher and washer dryer. On the entrance level there is also a further snug area with french doors opening onto the decked balcony with a spiral staircase leading to the roof garden.
The bedrooms are all well presented and each offering views over the River.
Bedroom One, situated on the entrance level features a kingsize bed with a single bedside cabinet and sidelight, freestanding wardrobe and a chest of drawers as well as benefting from an ensuite bathroom.
Bedroom Two, situated on the entrance level features a double bed and single bedside cabinet with sidelight, freestanding wardrobe and chest of drawers.
Bedroom Three, located on the lower ground floor features from twin beds with a bedside cabinet and sidelight, frestanding wardrobe and chest of drawers.
The property benefits from three bathroom facilities. To the master bedroom is a bathroom comprising of a panelled bath, low level wc, pedestal washbasin with illuminated mirror over, heated towel rail. On this same level is a further shower room being fully tiled with a large double shower cubicle, low level wc and pedestal washbasin with illuminated miror over. On the ground floor is another shower room with a shower cubcile, low level wc and pedestal washbasin.
Leading from the Snug is a decked balcony offering River views and furnished with a bistro set. From here, a spiral metal staircase rises up to the superb decked roof terrace. This is an ideal location for dining on those long summer evenings and for watching the world go by on the river.
Parking is available for two cars in the attached car port.

"Great outdoor views but needs a bit of a refresh"
Loved the situation of this spacious house and the views from its outdoor decks but we found some aspects of the inside and outside rather disappointing. Firstly there were some issues of cleanliness… More
So pleased you loved the spacious and idyllic property. The views from this house are breathtaking. We are concerned you said the cleanliness was not up to scratch as normally we are praised for how spotless the properties are, however, we have since spoken to the cleaners who will be making an effort to double check their houses are cleaned properly. When the owners visit, we will be advising them of the different areas of concern and hence improving the property to ensure the comfort of our guests is paramount. We thank you again for staying with Blueriver cottages and hope you enjoyed beautiful Dartmouth.

We are sorry you feel that way about Darte House especially as we have received such great feedback about the property from so many guests in the past. It is somewhat of a surprise and disappointment to us to have read the comments in your review.
Turning to the parking first, Dartmouth is nestled in the beautiful Dart Valley and is naturally hilly with winding narrow roads all over town. Above Town is a narrow road and believe me it is very much a luxury to have parking for not one but two cars on Above Town. We have had a number of 4x4s at Darte House and none of the guests previously have ever complained about access.
Secondly, Darte house is in a very sought after location. The Owners are proud of their property and keep it very well maintained. Yes it is up for sale but this does not affect the holiday lettings at the property with each booking being honoured by both Blueriver and the Owner. The property is kept in good order 'because' it is up for sale.
Lastly, the wine is bought by me from my old Royal Marines friend and colleague who runs the local Off Licence. This not only supports local business but it is appreciated by virtually all our guests, apart from one, and that is you, who are grateful that we have given something to them for nothing. We have had fantastic feedback from our guests and nothing but appreciation for the local fudge, jam and wine that we leave as a complimentary gift for our guests.
Again I am sorry you feel so strongly about Darte House and the services we have delivered. Of course, Trip Advisor is a relatively unforgiving medium that many can vent even their mildest frustrations on, even if they are unfair and unwarranted.
To all prospective guests, please do not be put off by this review, the property is wonderful and the service we deliver is fine, as an ex Royal Marine, you have my word!
