The Devon region

Dartmouth, located in the South Hams, Devon - is an area of outstanding natural beauty with its rugged coastline, beautiful beaches and rolling countryside. It has some of the mostly commended beaches in England nearby, and ideal for those relaxing lazy days.

The Food Festival (October), or New Years Eve when the whole town comes out in fancy dress. For those occasions, it is always advisable to book early to avoid disappointment.

The river provides a fascinating and continually changing panorama or activity with fishing boats, ferries, yachts, and on occasions, cruise ships or frigates and submarines visiting the Britannia Royal Naval College.

Boats can be hired for the whole family to get onto the river - there are also 'picnic boats' for those who want a more sedate and leisurely lunch, all prepared and served on board!

For those who like to let their hair down, theres a Dartmouth Music Festival (May), Dartmouth Regatta (August), The Food Festival (October), or New Years Eve when the whole town comes out in fancy dress. For those occasions, it is always advisable to book early to avoid disappointment.

"Lovely cottage ....."

Anchor Cottage provided everything we needed for our stay in Dartmouth over New Year. The cottage is finished to a high standard and also felt very cosy. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining room/siting room is nice and spacious. The location is very good, just a 5 minute walk into the town. We found the owner helpful and the booking process very smooth. All in all, I would definitely recommend Anchor Cottage and would book again if we returned to Dartmouth.

"Lovely house in a great position in Dartmouth"

We stayed in this newly refurbished house in Dartmouth for a week in October. The house is newly refurbished and was precisely what we wanted. It's positioned a short walk from the town centre with all its amenities and parking was fairly close by. We had a fabulous time and the house would be at the top of my list for another visit to Dartmouth.
