About this location
The Devon region
There is so much on offer for anyone looking to take a holiday in Devon. It is truly a beautiful and diverse county with sweeping moorland, wooded valleys to dramatic coastline, long sandy beaches, hidden inlets and traditional seaside towns and villages. Famous for its traditionally mild climate although 2010 saw snowfall in areas that exceed the Alps. The county is also proud of its locally grown produce where green lush fields and crystal clear seas produce some of the very best food the UK has to offer.
For those who enjoy home cooking most of this is available through farmers markets and local village shops. For those who would rather leave it to the professionals, you will be tempted by an outstanding variety of fantastic restaurants from fine dining through a traditional Devon cream tea! So my advise is come and experience the lure of this glorious county - the scenery is spectacular and the food mouth-watering, delicious and if you are lucky the sun will shine and you will indeed have found the holiday of your dreams!
For families this is the perfect destination with a multitude of activities on the doorstep. Take the children on the steam railway that winds it way from Kingswear to Paignton, or why not sit on the harbour wall and try your hand at crabbing always a firm favourite with children of any age. Other more conventional days out such as Woodlands adventure park is on the doorstep and there are a whole host of beaches in the area to visit, Blackpool Sands being the most popular. This award winning, Blue Flag beach just three miles from Dartmouth and is backed by pine trees and sheltered between cliffs. It is privately managed and maintained to an exceptionally high standard. Renowned for its crystal clear waters you will find superb facilities on offer including sand pits, a variety of watersports and hire equipment, showers, shops and the highly popular Venus Beach Café that serves organic locally sourced food. Dartmouth town is famous for its narrow cobbled streets full of interesting shops and independent boutiques. You will never be short of a place to eat as the town has an excellent choice of restaurants, cafes, takeaways and coffee shops. Choose from fine dining to fish and chips on the harbour wall! There is also a two good supermarkets with M&S food in the centre of town and a Sainsburys on the edge of town.

"Excellent facilities for a large group of people including two young babies."
Plenty of space, very comfortable, good cooking facilities and equipment. Having the pool was a bonus especially with the babies. The bedroom curtains could do with lining or black out roller blinds a… More
