The Devon region
There is a wealth of things see and do in the West Country as well as having some of the most breathtaking scenery in the United Kingdom, it has several award winning beaches to relax on. The climate during the summer is often balmy as the Gulf Stream warms the seas in the area, makes for excellent surfing and other water based pursuits. As far as attractions are concerned there is the Eden Project a vast eco-project with huge bio-domes to explore which offer many species from around the world as well as plenty for kids to do.
Dartmouth with its beautiful old-world centre is considered the capital of the South Hams, famous for peaceful rolling countryside, renowned coastline, excellent beaches (Blue Flag status) & coastal walks along footpaths leading to secluded beaches.
Dartmouth’s focal point is its bustling harbour and broad, wooded river. The town is designated a Conservation Area with 16th and 17th century timbered buildings, historic narrow streets, beautiful old shops, intimate pubs and excellent restaurants. Beach lovers will enjoy Sugary Cove near Dartmouth Castle as well as the beautiful Blackpool Sands and the long, unspoilt expanse of beach at Slapton Sands both of which are approximately 10 minutes drive.
Numerous attractions include the outdoor pool, pleasure cruises upriver to Totnes; Sailing or hiring motor boats for exploring the river or fishing; taking the Kingswear car ferry across to Torbay’s more bustling resorts of Brixham, Paignton and Torquay (10-15 minutes) or travelling on the restored steam train running between Kingswear and Paignton.
In August, Dartmouth hosts The Royal Regatta with funfair, sporting events, fireworks dispays and an array of boats. Some of the great beach destinations include Slapton, Torcross, Hope Cove, Beesands, Prawle, Salcombe, Bantham (surfing) Modbury and Thurlestone.
Recommended day trips include the estuary towns of Totnes and Kingsbridge, the riverfront village of Dittisham, a trip to scenic Dartmoor, a visit to the superb Plymouth Aquarium, a day at the truly superb Paignton Zoo or Woodlands Leisure Park.
For fishing enthusiasts there are plenty of opportunities to go out to sea and fish for flat fish, bream, pollock, bass and mackerel. Sharks and Conger Eel are also caught regularly. Fesh water fishermen have abundant opportunities for both coarse and game fishing in well stocked reservoirs or on river beats.

This was our second year returning and we loved it as much as the first time! The view is spectacular and the best bit is relaxing after a long day on the balcony, watching the boats come in. Our little ones still call it "our boat house holiday" and it took some convincing to get them back to London after our week's stay. The property is clean, tidy and comfortable. The information pack was consulted on a regular basis. There are lots to do in the town and surrounding areas, so impossible to get bored. Lovely restaurants...which we made well use of. We will definitely be returning!

"Great location, fantastic views"
Hardly any better location for a Dartmouth holiday than Newcomen Road. Under 100 meters from the river side, five minutes into town with its outstanding facilities. Plenty of room in the house and comfortably furnished. Excellent wifi Watch the boats and ships enter the Dart from the balcony looking out to the see. During our stay we had both a cruise liner and Tall Ship visit Dartmouth. Perfect venue for exploring Devon.

"The view from the balcony is stunning"
The wonderful view from the balcony takes in Dartmouth, Kingswear and the river Dart - and the view is just as good when you are sitting inside on the sofa with the windows closed. The location is excellent and the apartment is well equipped and cosy. Dartmouth itself is a very special place to stay.

Although the weather was not ideal for our week in Dartmouth we had a lovely time during our stay at Dartview. The view from the living room is amazing, I don't think I would ever get bored of it!

"Great views in the heart of Dartmouth"
This was our first stay in Dartmouth and we were fortunate to find this great accommodation in the heart of Dartmouth. With two small children we found Dartview well suited for our needs, everything we required and comfortable.

"Comfortable home and a great river view"
We really enjoyed a comfortable stay at Dartview which was clean and tidy. With a great view across to Kingswear and above the Lower Ferry it was just so interesting watching the activity on the river. Being just a few minutes walk from the Town Centre, it was really convenient going out to eat at night with a reasonable choice of places to dine even out of the main holiday season and we were also able to park outside on the road, (appreciate you have a parking permit for the summer). We enjoyed going across on the ferry that runs every few minutes over to Kingswear and from there, caught the regular buses to Brixham and Paignton, plus enjoyed the walk up the road to the very interesting Dartmouth Castle. Would love to live at Dartview permanently! The communication was excellent throughout and we appreciated the full information you provide. Thank you.

"Home from home"
We stay at DartView regularly and its location makes getting everywhere in town a short step and its comfort makes a home from home for us.

Excellent accommodation & location. Spectacular views - will be back for another holiday! A truly amazing experience.

We have stayed at the property several times and I relax completely as soon as I look at the view from the balcony. The property is very comfortable with plenty of space for two people. Everywhere in the town is just minutes away and we still have not eaten at all the restaurants or finished exploring the local area in all the years we've been visiting Dartmouth.

"a lovely property with a stunning view"
My second spring break was as good as last year at this lovely comfortable property. Set in the heart of Dartmouth, everything is within easy walking distance. The balcony is a superb sun trap and there is always loads going on on the river below. Doombar and Otter beer in the pubs is superb and the food at the Floating Bridge is worth a visit. I have already booked Dartview for March 2015.
