About the home

Number 17 is a beautiful, very spacious, recently refurbished town house with a comfortable and homely feel, the perfect combination for your holiday. Luxury abounds throughout with thoughtful clever touches everywhere. Views of the town and the beautiful River Dart beyond can be seen from this lovely house and you are just a 5 minute walk away from the town centre!

On the next level is a lovely lounge with a mix of comfy sofas and an elegantly recovered chaise longue. Huge bay windows let the light flood in and allow views of the town and river beyond. There is an ornamental open fireplace which adds a feeling of comfort and grandeur completing the rooms magical feel! One of the three double bedrooms can be found on this level with a double bed, fitted wardrobes and a wash basin. On the next level there are two lovely bedrooms one with a double bed and ensuite shower and one with a king sized bed which can be split into two singles giving flexible accommodation and an ensuite shower and toilet. Off the landing is a gorgeous luxury bathroom with a double basin and deep bath to relax in at the end of the day.

With two outside areas to the back and front of this lovely house you can enjoy al fresco dinning on those lovely summer evenings or a glass of wine taking in the views on the front terrace. With parking for two cars this makes for the perfect holiday home, arrive park up and enjoy all the Dartmouth has to offer!

The West Country / Devon region

Devon is a popular holiday destination in South west England.The scenery and climate have made the area a favoured destination for the past 250 years. Over that time much has changed, yet much of the character and many of the local traditions have remained.

The coast and countryside are still extraordinarily beautiful, which is why more than two thirds of South Devon is carefully protected as a national asset, either in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or as part of the Dartmoor National Park.

The Dartmouth area

Dartmouth is characterised by its narrow lanes, stairways and corridors and plenty of medieval and Elizabethan features. It is a beautiful town steeped in history with many of the buildings dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. The oldest building in Dartmouth is the Cherub Public House which dates back as far as 1380!

The Britannia Royal Naval College famous for training the Royal Navy's Officers sits majestically overlooking the town and down the River Dart towards Kingswear and the Dartmouth Castle and out to sea. The Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway is on the Kingwear side of the river and trains run regularly offering a traditional and unique blast from the past.

By Road
From the M5 motorway you're in South Devon as soon as you cross the Exe Esturay when the road then becomes the A38 dual carriageway. From here, you can follow the road through to Newton Abbot, Paignton, Totnes and finally Dartmouth or you can come off the A38 on the Buckafastleigh slip road where Totnes and Dartmouth are clearly signposted.
