There are various annual events in Tavistock, including The Goose Fair. This has been celebrated since the early 12th century.

There is an annual carnival and at Christmas the Dickensian Night is a step back in time to Christmases past.

Sir Francis Drake was born in Tavistock and his life and achievements are highlighted in various ways throughout the town and in the local museum.

The famous Wharf is within walking distance, which showcases live music, films, shows and plays. Plymouth Jazz Club regularly host events in nearby Plymouth.
