Views of Dartmoor and Tavistock

Tavistock is one of the most delightful towns in the UK and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing; under Cornwall and Devon's mining landscape.

Tavistock is home to the permanent Pannier Market open five days a week. The market has weekly and monthly themed days with regular craft and antique fares as well as a charter market each Friday offering organic and farmers’ fare foods. Additionally, twice a month a large Farmers' Market is held in Bedford Square.

There are various annual events in Tavistock, including The Goose Fair. This has been celebrated since the early 12th century. There is an annual carnival and at Christmas the Dickensian Night is a step back in time to Christmases past. Sir Francis Drake was born in Tavistock and his life and achievements are highlighted in various ways throughout the town and in the local museum.

Tavistock is also home to the famous and exciting Tavistock Music and Arts Festival, where better to stay than the Old Tavistock Railway Station so that you can walk to the various concerts and exhibitions over the 10 day duration of the festival.
