A romantic cottage in the one of UK's most romantic settings - Moorland View Cottage is an idyllic destination for a UK honeymoon or romantic break.

Our luxury Devon cottage has all the elements for a perfect UK honeymoon or romantic countryside holiday: boutique decor, log fire, oak-beamed rooms, sumptuous beds, window seats with dreamy Dartmoor views, rose garden, romantic slipper bath for two, beautiful local walks and Devon's best sandy beaches close by.

Romantic touches include freshly cut lilies, Molton Brown toiletries, luxury White Company Egyptian cotton bed linen, fluffy towels, scented candles, glossy magazines and Sunday papers. Honeymooners should check out our romantic honeymoon packages.

Cottage guests have unlimited complimentary membership of the spa, jacuzzi, sauna, pool, gym and tennis facilities of luxury, five-star Bovey Castle Hotel nearby, with 20% off anything you purchase.

Our romantic UK honeymoon cottage is in one of the prettiest parts of Dartmoor National Park, with ancient thatched villages, woodland walks and 365 square miles of beautiful wilderness on the doorstep. The white sandy beaches of Devon's South Hams are a scenic 50-minute drive away.

Our village, North Bovey, is wonderfully romantic, comprising a handful of thatched cottages, a medieval church and a fantastic pub clustered around an oak-shaded green. It's beautiful, and very peaceful: the only sounds are birdsong, church bells and the occasional clip clopping of horses' hooves. Come to unwind, enjoy the great outdoors and fall in love.

The West Country region

Craggy coves and cream teas, surf breaks and strolls, picnics and pints in pub gardens - holidays in Devon are wholesome, simple and scenic. A visit here mixes two of life's loveliest pleasures: good food and the great outdoors.

The south and north coasts have magnificent beaches, while the vast wilderness of Dartmoor and Exmoor in inland Devon offer solitude, silence and big skies. The gentle, Fressian-filled pastures of mid Devon hide clusters of thatched villages, meandering rivers and thickly wooded cleaves.

Most of Devon's main attractions, museums and National Trust properties open from the beginning of April to the end of October. If you can visit outside the school holidays, do: you'll avoid M5 tailbacks and crowded beaches. After the Easter holidays, coastal paths are awash with spring flowers. In autumn, the turning of the colours on the moors is glorious, and in September and October, the sea is at its warmest and the beaches at their quietest. Visiting in winter has its benefits – among them, head-clearing blustery walks, then holing up by a fire in a cosy pub.

Pamper yourself at a country club

Moorland View Cottage guests have complimentary use of Bovey Castle, Dartmoor's most exclusive country club, just a ten-minute walk, or two-minute drive, from the cottage. Facilities include a beautiful indoor pool with floor to ceiling windows, tennis courts, spa, gym and a championship golf course (green fees apply).

Take a walk on the wild side

Moorland View Cottage is in the heart of one of Dartmoor, one of the UK's largest remaining wildernesses. Walking trails take in prehistoric villages, wooded glades, open moorland, 13th century hamlets, and snug, country pubs. There's the chance of spotting wild ponies, birds of prey, kingfishers, otters and rare butterflies.

Get a natural high

Horseriding, kayaking, rock climbing, fly fishing, wild swimming, clay pigeon shooting, hunting, off-roading - Dartmoor is an outdoor lovers' playground.

Taste the difference

Devon - and Dartmoor in particular - is packed with fantastic farmers' markets, gastro pubs, farm shops and organic restaurants.

Be beside the seaside

Dartmoor is 40 minutes away from the South Hams, with its sugar white sandy beaches, warm (ish) swimming, craggy coastal walks and characterful fishing villages.

Shop till you drop

Topsham, Ashburton, Honiton and Chagford are pretty local towns, which are crammed with galleries, antique shops, gorgeous boutiques, tea shops, pubs and delis.

Learn something new

A cookery course, astronomy lesson or surfing session - Moorland View makes a great base for learning something new.

Get to the art of it

With its wild beauty and crisp light, Dartmoor is a haunt of artists, craftsmen and musicians. Look out for potteries, weavers and artists' studios tucked away in local villages.

Visit an ancient building

Exeter Cathedral, Okehampton Castle, Buckfast Abbey and Castle Drogo are our favourites.
