The 'Shippon' has been lovingly converted into a luxury Barn Conversion (The Granary) & luxury Cottage (The Mill).
'The Granary' truly is an exquisite place to stay – a countryside retreat and the perfect location to escape from the world. We are located in a hidden valley that slopes down to a small stream. There are four ponds along the stream. The ground is slightly sloping and we also have big 'Devon Hills'!
The barn conversion is first class and oozes character and charm (vaulted ceilings,beams,chandeliers, king sized bed, 'sunken' shower, leather sofas, easy chairs, thick pile carpets/rugs).
We offer a Bottle of Wine, eggs (from our chickens) and milk on your arrival.
Set in an Idyllic countryside retreat with woodland walks set in glorious rolling Devon hills we have a small fishing lake and ponds filled with carp. A Tennis court is available for you (please borrow our rackets and have a friendly game!), alongside our workshop and secure storage for bikes.
A bird watchers paradise (goshawks, buzzards, owls, ducks) we have excellent Dartmoor walks and we are very near to Haytor, Widecombe in the Moor, Ashburton, Totnes and Hound Tor (made famous by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Hound of the Baskervilles). We are 5/10 minutes from the A38 Expressway and very accessible.
As we are a farm, we have animals who are looked after extremely well - our native breed cattle (born and raised on Dartmoor), our chickens and our three extremely handsome dogs, Holly, Pumpkin and Scruff!

Being so close to beautiful Dartmoor there's a vast amount of activities and ventures to explore!
We are close to the following villages, towns and cities - Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Haytor Rocks, Hound Tor, Torbay, Dartmouth, Totnes, Ashburton, Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot, Exeter and Plymouth. We are 5 mins from The Devon Expressway, the A38.

Beautifully decorated cottage, very well furnished to a high standard, in a lovely setting and with great views. The dogs at the farm are adorable, but most of all Nick and Sarah are lovely people who make a difference in their service with thoughtful touches such as wine/eggs/milk on arrival and give you great tips of where to go. Thank you for a fantastic first holidays with our 1 month old little girl. We will come back!

"Peace and Tranquility"
We have just returned from a brilliant weeks stay at The Granary, one of the two properties available at Lurcombe. We had a lovely peaceful week getting away from it all, in beautiful secluded surroundings. Lurcombe itself is idyllic with stunning views across the farmland. Whilst it is a working farm this did not disturb us at all. The Granary is a very well appointed luxury barn conversion and occupies the upper floor, accessed by stairs (the other holiday rental, The Mill is below). The property was perfect for our week in Devon, and we had everything we needed. Nick & his family were very welcoming, as were the 3 lovely dogs who greeted us every time we appeared. The property is conveniently located a few minutes from the main road but you would never know as it is so secluded and you can't hear the main road across the hills. All in all a great place to stay for a quiet retreat from busy life - a little bit of paradise! Would definitely recommend!

Very friendly including the humans! Well converted farm building into holiday accommodation. Tastefully and artistically decorated. Nice welcome to quiet and secluded spot allowing for complete relaxation. We came away rejuvenated after only a short stay.

"Comfortable and homely stay in beautiful surroundings"
We've have a fantastic stay in the Granary in Lurcombe. My husband, our 9 month old daughter and me stayed in the Granary Apartment for 5 nights.
The owners are friendly and helpful. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, fresh eggs from the chickens on the farm and a pint of milk. They also provided us with a good travel cot for our daughter. There are lots of brochures and books with walks, tips and information about the area and things to do.
The apartment is really comfortable and homely. The atmosphere is great, with oak beams on the ceiling, nice sofas, great king sized beds and a thick, luxury carpet. The farm dogs Pumpkin, Scruff and Holly are also lovely.
The best part of the apartment however, are its surroundings. When you look out of the window, you see the cattle in the field. It's located in a green, peaceful valley and also really close to Dartmoor National Park, which is stunningly beautiful.
