Oaker View an 18th Century cottage is situated in a tucked away location, close to the heart of the Derbyshire village of Darley Bridge, which straddles the River Derwent. This historical building which is personally managed by the owners is believed to have been built in 1757 as a farmworkers cottage and has lost none of its natural charm with it's exposed beams and substantial Derbyshire stone lintel over the fireplace in the lounge.
Oaker View has lovely views over the Peak District National Park which can be reached by a footpath, just metres from the front door. Darley Bridge boasts two pubs that both serve food and are within walking distance of the cottage. Oaker View is a warm comfortable house with gas fired central heating throughout and so is a comfortable place to stay whatever the weather. The lounge also benefits from a cast iron wood burner in the fireplace. From the cottage there are so many footpaths and tracks you could walk every day and never use the same walk twice. An ideal cottage for two people.

Plus you are within walking distance of the Peak District National Park where you can walk for miles.
Oaker View Cottage is situated in the centre of the village of Darley Bridge, which straddles the river Derwent. In the village there are two 'local' pubs, which both serve food: the Square and Compass and the nearer of the two pubs the Three Stags Heads, where Janet the landlady always gives you a warm welcome. A short 15 minutes walk will take you to the local Spar shop & garage, the Whitworth Park, 24 hours cash machine, the local pharmacy and also the steam train to Matlock and Rowsley. Oaker View Cottage also has the advantage of being in a small quiet village but only half a mile from the A6 which will give you easy access to all other areas of the Peak District. One of the many advantages of Oaker View Cottage is that it is just 30 metres from the Peak National Park. You can walk in many directions straight from the cottage via the public footpaths and never see the same place twice.
