About this location
The Turkish Aegean Coast region
Relax in our exclusive luxury villas with pool in an un-spoilt corner of the Mediterranean. These beautiful new villas are located only 20 minutes from Dalaman Airport in the lovely resort of Dalyan, on the South West coast of Turkey.
Dalyan has a Mediterranean climate, meaning rain in winter and sun, sun, sun in summer. You can be assured of sunshine here from May - October.
The Turquoise Coast was originally populated by the Hittites who settled here 3,000 years ago in the ancient town of Kaunos, just a short boat ride away. Dalyan's economy is based on fishing, tourism, citrus orchards, cotton gardens and olive groves.
Ephesus is just a 3 hour drive away and can be combined with Aphrodisia and Pamukale to the north. The Lycian Coast is famous for it's hiking paths and bicycle tracks with many travellers each year returning for it's magic and alluring beauty.
Dalyan is situated on the Dalyan River in a delta fed from the waters of Koygeyiz Lake. The lake and river are famous for their health giving thermal waters and mud baths. The lake and river which runs into the sea gives access to a fleet of flat bottomed boats which follow the river through a miasma of reed beds, stunning vistas and open onto the famous Iztuzu Beach, winner of the Open Green Space Award for Europe in 2008. Iztuzu is also famous for the Carretta Carretta Turtle and is an environmentally protected area for nesting.
There are many attractions to fill your days. Beautiful beaches, forest walks, ruins of Caunos, Lycien Rock Tombs, Boat Trips, Turkish Baths, Masseurs, Natural Mudbaths, Thermal Springs, Scuba Diving, Markets, Shops, very reasonably priced Restaurants and Bars and charming and friendly people. These are just a few of the attractions you can experience during our very memorable holiday at Villa Mavi.
The town sits on the Dalyan river fed by the local mountain streams that converge on the Koycegiz lake. Locals and tourists alike can enjoy the natural Mud Baths and Thermal Springs at the side of the lake, then meander through the maze of reed beds, passing the ancient Rock Tombs carved into the side of the mountain 3000 years ago. The river opens onto the beautiful Iztuzu Beach, better known as Turtle Beach where the gently shelving beach is home to the endangered Loggerhead turtle as well as much bird life.
Dalyan is a place that has something for everyone, no matter what your age; from doing nothing but relaxing, to white water rafting or sea kyaking, to lazy boat trips along the coast, stopping to snorkel and eat. Its a good place for the children/teenagers in your family: they can enjoy a greater degree of independence from the adults without getting into trouble. It is by and large a very safe place and the locals are friendly and trustworthy.
This wonderful un-spoilt corner of Turkey is the perfect place to enjoy the relaxing and exotic culture of Turkey. Dalyan and its people are so incredibly friendly, you will probably never want to leave.

"Lovely villa in great location"
From enquiring about Villa Ruby right through to the end of our stay, Susan and her partner Nev were more than happy to answer any questions and gave great advice on things to do and places to go. The villa is situated in a complex of 5 (one of which our friends rented) with beautiful gardens and a fair size pool which was kept immaculately clean. Two of the bedrooms are a good size and the third, which has bunk beds, would be more than adequate for two younger children. However, two teenagers found it a bit cramped at times! The kitchen is very well equipped for self caterers but there are so many super restaurants that we didn't use it that much! A leisurely 10 minute walk took us into the centre of town, where there are numerous restaurants, some shops and also a weekly market. All in all, a lovely villa in a quiet setting but still near enough to walk into town with two of the most helpful owners you could meet!
Thank you for writing us such a favourable review. We are so glad you enjoyed your time in Dalyan and Villa Ruby for your holiday.
