About the home

The White House is located 5 minutes walk from the centre of Dalyan, a small town near the Turquoise coast of the Mediterranean. The town is on a fertile river delta which includes a protected turtle sanctuary (Iztuzu beach), an ancient city (Caunos), a large freshwater lake and thermal mud baths within close reach.

The detached villa has its own private pool and garden with a large covered terrace ideally sited for both the morning and evening sun. There are four bedrooms and 3 shower rooms (1 en suite), offering flexible family accommodation. The ground floor has a large lounge/diner, a separate kitchen, downstairs shower room and entrance hall. The garden provides an oasis of colour and shade with palms, bougainvillea and fruit trees. There is an off street car-parking area and the property is in a quiet location.

** The White House villa is also very close (200m or so) from our other house in Dalyan, a luxurious and modern three bed, three en-suite bathroom villa with a huge shared pool and gardens. Our detached, modern villa is well equipped and comfortable. It has air-conditioning throughout and fly screens on all doors and windows for comfort.

Each of the first floor bedrooms has its own balcony (one balcony with outside seating provided) and one has a view of the famous rock carved tombs.

The garden has a West-facing aspect which is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful sunsets over the nearby mountains.

The pool is 60m sq, which a large pool for a private villa and ideal for swimming, or just splashing around. The depth is between 1.4M and 1.8M. Please note that there is no separate children's pool.

The garden has a large paved area for relaxing by the pool and is also planted with a variety of mediterranean plants, such as palms, bougainvillea, jasmine and fruit trees.

Conditions

£100 booking deposit required to hold booking with the balance due 8 weeks before your arrival day.

Cancellations within 8 weeks of your arrival date will refunded according to the scale in our booking terms and conditions if we are unable to re-let the property.

A refundable breakages deposit of £100 required with balance of rental payment. This will be refunded within two weeks of your departure from the property (subject to a satisfactory property inspection).

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

The Turquoise Coast and Lycia region of Turkey is home to some of the best attractions in the country and the whole of the coastline is spectacular. Fethiye and Bodrum are great for combining ancient sights and with modern facilities. Marmaris is a more European style resort and Ephesus is an unmissable ancient site.

The climate in this beautiful area is warm and pleasant from April to November, with temperatures soaring in June, July and August. There is also a constant light refreshing breeze.

The Dalyan area

Dalyan is a small town which remains unspoilt by tourism, yet offers a good variety of restaurants and cafes for you to choose from. Dalyan is also home to many interesting and colourful traditional shops, which remain open late into the evening, perfect for wandering through after the sun has gone down.

The closest beach to Dalyan is Iztuzu Beach, a perfect stretch of golden sand which is unspoilt as it is a preserved turtle breeding ground. We love to take a boat trip along the river which takes you to dock at this beach. While you relax on the beach, a barbecue of fresh local fare is cooked on the boat, which you can then enjoy while sailing back along the river. These trips are unforgettable, as well as being good value. There are also renowned and rejuvenating natural mudbaths in the area.

There are several local travel agencies which will be able to tailor-make excursions for you, examples include white-water rafting, hiking, micro-light flights, jeep safaris, sailing etc.

Fly to Dalaman airport which is approximately 3.5 hrs from the UK and then a 20 minute transfer to Dalyan.

We can arrange for these transfers for around 45-60 GBP return via our local agent (the exact price depends on your party size). You can also get a local taxi, but these are more expensive than pre-arranged transfers. Private car hire is also available at Dalaman airport, or in Dalyan itself (hiring in Dalyan may be cheaper and agencies will deliver the car to the villa).
