About this location

The Turkish Aegean Coast region

Dalyan is in an environmentally protected area that combines stunning natural beauty with historical interest. The Dalyan River winds past ancient Rock Tombs and the ruined city of Kaunos, to the sea. The 30 minute river-boat ride takes you to Iztuzu beach which is ideal for swimming and sunbathing, It is here that the endangered Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta Caretta) lay their eggs. Apart from the beauty and tranquillity of this wonderful place, the hospitality and friendliness of the local people is a joy to experience. The cuisine is varied and caters for all tastes. There are many restaurants, bars and shops but do not expect many too discos and nightclubs (there are one or two!)

Other things to do include: mudbaths, cycling, diving, Turkish Baths, fishing, bird watching, Gentlemen, you must visit the local barber. There are many excursions available, the Gulet Cruise from Gocek is magical.

"Wonderful relaxing holiday in amazing location and great accommodation"

A lovely relaxing place to stay in a beautiful location. The villa is so well positioned within 5 mins walking distance of the shops and numerous restaurants. The villa also offers bikes so you can travel easily a lot further. Villa very well equipped and great for groups of friends as well. A private swimming pool means you can just chill out if you want to or book on any of the numerous tours which are delightful. Nothing too much trouble for the owners.

"A perfect week at Villa Jamara"

The airport transfer to and from Villa Jamara was very efficient, fast and trouble free. The villa itself was very well equipped and maintained to a high standard. The town was a short walk away (10 minutes) and many other places of interest easily accessible by foot, bike, by hire car, taxi or public transport. The villa had its own mountain bikes which saved on hire costs and there were many choices of activity to suit the most to the least active. Highlights were the river side restaurants and pancake houses, the mud baths on the lake, the quiet sandy beach and the Roman ruins at Kaunos. The villa was a perfect place to relax and restore the batteries and I'd have no hesitation in returning for another visit next year.

I am glad that your first impression with the efficient airport transfer was only a taste of things to come. Yes, the villa is well equipped and maintained to a high standard. I am so pleased that you found the local area catered for all your party's needs. Should you wish to visit again in the future, I will look forward to welcoming you.

"Fabulous Holiday at Villa Jamara"

Everything about our holiday at Jamara was wonderful and we would love to return. The villa was very well appointed and extremely clean and well equipped. I also really appreciated having access to a downstairs bedroom with ensuite toilet and walk-in shower as I have a slight disability. The laundry facilities were very good and the kitchen appliances included a large fridge, microwave and cooker, with more than enough crockery for our group of eight people. The location was good, being quiet and only a five minute walk from nearby shops, bars and restaurants. The pool and garden were very well maintained and we very much enjoyed being able to choose to eat either on the terrace or inside the villa. There was a brilliant pancake house very close by, situated overlooking the river and was a favourite for light lunches. We also ate out a few evenings in the town which has some good local restaurants, particularly those on the river bank. Hiring a car was easy and cheap, and allowed us to explore the local area, including visiting the beautiful and peaceful protected turtle beach. There were some interesting local walks and I would recommend taking the ferry across the river and walking to Kaunos, an amazing nearby roman site. A must is to take a trip on one of the river boats, through the reed beds and up into the lake. A magical journey. We found Julia, the owner, was very helpful and informative; communication was very good and the arrangements for transfer from and to the airport was very efficient. I would definitely recommend a stay at Jamara for a relaxing and fun holiday with a range of activities for everyone.

I am so pleased that you found everything at the villa well appointed and well equipped. I am also glad that you would like to visit again and look forward to welcoming you in the future

"A slice of paradise"

Wow, what a fantastic villa and perfect place to stay! The location near to the harbour-side was not too close to the town but far enough out that it was quiet and away from it all. The views from the… More

I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Villa Jamara. I look forward to welcoming you again.

"Already making plans to go back!!"

This villa really ticked all the boxes and contained all the resources and indulgences that were advertised. The village was just a stroll away along the river with numerous restaurants to choose from and fantastic views of the surrounding hills (and the tombs) which I never tired of.
The villa was situated in a very quiet and safe area and each room was kitted out with everything you could ask for. We all agreed the villa was great value for money and a real treat... we're already booking up for next year!! Thank you Villa Jamara for a beautiful luxurious retreat and a perfect end to our summer!!

I am very pleased you enjoyed your stay at Villa Jamara and found that it met your expectations. It is certainly in a most beautiful part of the world and I hope you will be able to visit again in the not too distant future

"Another great week"

I have stayed at VillaJamara several times now and each time I love it more ! The Villa, the garden, the pool and the kosk (lazy outdoor cushioned area) continue to be maintained to the highest standard. We love lazing in the kosk or by the pool and taking in the beautiful surrounding scenery. The town is about 5 minutes walk away so eating, shopping or using the river boats to visit the lake or the sea is very convenient. Dalyan is a lovely area with many fantastic walks over the mountain and around the lake. The famous turtle beach is close and usually very quiet - a real paradise! We love to take the Villa's bikes to the beach stopping at one of the Turkish eateries for a late breakfast on the way. Further afield, when we're feeling a bit more energetic and adventurous, there are loads of marvellous places to visit. I've already booked the villa for next year and already looking forward to it!

I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay again and look forward to welcoming you in the future.

"Family friendly"

As a family of 8 adults and 2 children we recently stayed here for 2 weeks. The villa itself was nice enough, looked just as the pictures showed. The rooms were spacious and tidy and reasonably clean,… More

I am pleased that your found the position of the villa central and the views beautiful. I was very sorry to hear your comments about the things that were wrong. In your pre-arrival email from me you were given details of how to contact our agent (they are only 7 minutes walk away, if you don't have a phone) You do not say whether you contacted our agent to address the issues you have mentioned but we have always found them helpful and very reliable. You were also given my mobile number in case of emergency and you did not contact me to help you with the cleaners not turning up mid holiday etc. I am very sorry about the Internet but due to a traffic accident the telegraph pole was knocked down and it has been difficult to get it repaired. I did arrange for a dongle to be supplied which should have given you a basic connection. You were notified of this prior to arrival.
Regarding the lack of "breakfast" you say that you were assured there would be bottled water and breakfast. You emailed me before the holiday on this matter and I will copy my reply " I don't think anything will be open at the time you arrive. However, there will be a "welcome pack" which has a small amount of basics to tide you over, tea, milk, biscuits.etc I am not sure if water is included, but we always drink the tap water and have never been ill. If you don't want to do this or have a young baby just boil it first. There is a small mini market at the end of the road ( 2 minutes walk ) which will be open very early"
I am sorry you did not get in touch with me as it is important to me that my guests enjoy their holidays and leave on a happy note. As you will see from ALL my other reviews ALL other guests have enjoyed their stay at the villa and very many of our guests have visited several times.
I note that your name is different from the person who made the booking so it is possible there has been a breakdown of communication.

"The most wonderful villa ,in the most beautiful area !"

Villa Jamara is a beautiful villa ,stunning both inside and out!
Outside the pool is large enough for the whole family to enjoy and surrounded by beautiful gardens and amazing mountain views to one side. Having the pool flood light at night meant we could still enjoy the pool and sit out on the patio late into the evening.
Inside the villa is beautifully furnished and very spacious.Although luxurious ,all the extra comforts supplied makes the villa feel homely .
A Hugh bonus is that Villa Jamara is in walking distance to the river and Dalyan .5 minutes stroll leads you to lovely restaurants set right on the river .Dalyan is a beautiful area of Turkey with stunning scenery .Hiring a private boat to take you to beautiful lakes, secluded bays ,ancient ruins and even mud baths ! would be our top tip for a memorable holiday.
The owner couldn't have been more helpful ,with lots of contact and advise to make booking and organising our holiday so easy.
Quite simply the most wonderful holiday we have ever had as a family.

I am so glad that you and your family enjoyed the lovely area around Dalyan and that you found the villa such a good place to stay. Yes, being so close to the town is an added bonus.

"A well-appointed villa in a very convenient location"

This year was our seventh visit. Could you have a better recommendation?
The villa is large and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is set in a lovely garden providing privacy and the pool and jacuzzi are well-maintained.
The villa is within a very short walk of the town and the river with plenty of restaurants near at hand.
The transfers have always been hassle-free. Altogether a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

I am so glad you enjoyed your holiday yet again and that you find the pool and garden both beautiful and private. I look forward to welcoming you and your family to the villa next year.

"A fantastic week in the sun"

This was the fifth time that I have stayed at Villa Jamara - which I guess says it all! The villa is very well equipped, spacious and has a lovely pool and gardens. It is in a great location in a very quiet area but only a five minute walk into the town.

There were ten of us staying at the villa (five adults and five children) and there was plenty of room for us, both inside and out. The outlook and views are wonderful, with well kept gardens providing privacy whilst the backdrop of the mountains is quite spectacular.

Dalyan itself is great for families - quite a small town but plenty of restaurants and shops plus several bars. My wife describes it as a shopping paradise! The local people are very friendly.

Dalaman airport is a clean modern airport and very quiet; quite the opposite of Gatwick! Transfers to and from Dalaman were arranged for us and very punctual.

We will certainly visit again.

I am so pleased that you continue to enjoy Villa Jamara and it's wonderful position. Yes, it is spacious even for a large group. I look forward to welcoming you again next year.
