The Turkish Aegean Coast region
The Turkish Turquoise Coast boats 300 days of sunshine a year. In addition to the great climate is a beautiful coastline and an area overflowing with places of historical interest. This winning combination makes it
attractive to Turkish and international tourists alike.
There is a huge choice of trips around the surrounding countryside and coast. The 5000 year old ancient sites at Tlos, Xanthos and Aphrodisias are within a day's drive while Ephesus and the unique 'Cotton Castle' in Pammukale can be visited on a 2 day trip organised from Dalyan. You can also fly to Istanbul in 1hr 10 minutes.
The Iztuzu beach in Dalyan is the second most important site for endangered loggerhead turtles. Imagine a 5km strectch of golden sand from the base of a pine clad mountain to a river delta with not a single hotel, house or car in sight where rare turtles come to lay their eggs at night.
Dalyan is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Spend your holiday in Dalyan and you will undoubtedly want to return, joining the ever increasing number of people who have fallen under its magical spell and cannot keep away. With a charismatic mix of breathtaking scenery, nature, extraordinary Turkish hospitality, as well as restaurants, charming bars, places to shop and lots of things to do, you will experience an unforgettable holiday which will exceed all expectations.
Dalyan is a lovely, small riverside town, a conservation area surrounded by cotton fields, pomegranate fields, orange and lemon groves and pine clad mountains. Development is limited in Dalyan which means no high rise buildings, Greenpeace plays an active role and local people still make a living fishing and farming.
Dalyan has a beautiful beach, one of the last few remaining nesting sites of the loggerhead turtle with its own turtle sanctuary where you can see injured turtles and it has been voted as one of the safest beaches for children and was also winner of The Times Best Open Spaces for Europe.
There are famous local mud baths and thermal springs and an ancient city just the other side of the river as well as spectacular 4th Century rock tombs carved into the cliff face. There is a beautiful lake at the end of the river for you to cruise around and have a barbecue.
Dalyan is laid back, low key and lovely; a unique place that is a hit with all ages. If you are one of those people who vows 'I never go to the same place twice' you'll be in for a surprise

"Superb villa and location."
We rented 2 villas for a party of 13. The owners were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to assist with all of our numerous requests. The location was beautiful in pomegranate fields surrounded by mountains. It was wonderfully peaceful for the older members of the party but an easy walk or bike ride( on bikes provided by the owners) into the town center. I would definitely recommend the boat trip with Dundar as this was an amazing experience. So glad we booked these villas and would highly recommend them.

"Well equipped and furnished, lovely position, would recommend for couples or families"
This was obviously a new villa and is at one end of three, sharing a pool with the middle villa, while the villa at the other end has its own pool. We had a 6-month baby with us, and it was ideal, although I would say that during our stay the middle villa was unoccupied and we therefore had the pool all to ourselves and were not too bothered about the baby crying at 3 a.m. and waking the neighbours! It is a 10-minute walk to the town, no hills to contend with, so close enough to walk to all the (very good) restaurants, bars and shops, but far enough away to have absolute peace if you just want to relax. There are two bikes per villa which meant a trip to the bakery and back in the morning was just 15 minutes and the croissants still warm. In town, service was excellent everywhere. We were a little apprehensive about being several kms from the beach, but the boat ride from town down the river to get there was all part of the experience, and the pool was our main focus most days. There are plenty of excursions and activities on offer if you want to be more active. The villa itself is well equipped, spacious and comfortable (no cupboards masquerading as rooms!). Take DVDs if you want nights in - there are plentiful very cheap bootleg versions in town but the quality is not great. Beware of mosquitoes at dusk, when they are very active, but otherwise not a problem. We took the transfer option and were collected and returned to the airport in comfort saving any problems with finding the villa on arrival. We would have no hesitation at all in recommending Dalyan and this villa as a relaxing holiday destination.

"Idyllic location, relaxing, superb location, high quality villas"

Thank you very much indeed. We are very touched by all the positive comments. Our villa project went massively over budget (these things always do) but after reading your reviews we know it was worth going that extra mile. We really appreciate your custom and hope to see you again.

Had an absolutely beautiful stay at Villa Byblis for a week with my parents. We couldn't have asked for anything better, it had everything and was spotless.
The villa is in a perfect location, a ten minute walk into the town so very peaceful and quiet of an evening - great for looking up at the stars! The bikes provided were great to cycle into town of a day.
Can't wait to return!

"A beautiful, relaxing location with superb facilities"
Pomegranate Villas are beautifully appointed in a tranquil location just a short (15 minute) walk from the centre of Dalyan. The owners, Helenka and Dundar, have built these 3 villas with discerning self-catering guests in mind and have paid a great deal of attention to detail to ensure that their guests have a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. It is the little things that make all the difference such as the provision of two bicycles to use, having a basic welcome pack included in the price with the option of paying for an additional welcome pack (including bread, milk, jam, cheese, olive oil etc), arranging door-to-door airport transfers at a very competitive price if required, providing an extensive information file in the villa with great hints and tips for places to visit and restaurants etc. Helenka and Dundar were also easily contactable and responsive if you needed assistance with arranging day trip or restaurant bookings. All it left us to do was have a relaxing, enjoyable holiday!

"A stunning villa in a beautiful setting!"
I stayed in this stunning villa during August of 2011. From the moment that we were picked up at the airport to the moment that we left, nothing seemed too much trouble for Helenka and her family (owners of the villa).
The villa itself was of the highest standard, with a beautiful contemporary feel. It had everything that you would expect from a newly built property and more - air conditioning, wet rooms, and all mod cons, including a safe! Even washing powder was supplied, which was a lovely touch!
As the name suggests, Pomegranate Villas are set in a grove of pomegranate trees, with hills and mountains as a back drop. I don't think that I ever tired of the view at all during my stay, especially whilst lazing in the pool! Again Helenka has thought of the needs of her visitors, with sunbeds and shades, tables and chairs and of course, the obligatory barbecue!
From the villa there is an easy (no hills!) 10 to 15 minute walk into town or alternatively you could use one of the many bikes that are available. Dalyan itself is a resort that can suit many tastes, yes it does have its sports and karaoke bars, but it also has quiet restaurants and bars where you can sit and watch the world go by. The locals love children and will make a fuss of them wherever you go, especially at 'Caretta Caretta' restaurant! Taxis are available to take you home after an evening in town and these are reasonably priced.
There are no beaches in Dalyan, but the local one can be reached by boat or dolmus. I would recommend using the dolmus as it takes you to the quiet, more family oriented end of the beach. (Helenka managed to get one to pick us up at the villa, which was a nice touch.) Here you can hire sunbeds and shades - 3 Turkish lira per bed and shade respectively and eat at the reasonably priced beach restaurant. Also, take a short walk to the turtle sanctuary, where they look after injured turtles and those baby ones that struggle to leave their nesting sight. The work they do here is outstanding and all donations are greatly appreciated.
Boat trips are available in Dalyan, but Helenka can also organise these for you,as well as supplying you with a folder full of information - including where to get a Turkish bath or shave. I had the bath and my partner the shave, both come recommended!
We have booked the villa again for next year, as we were so impressed. If you are looking for a place that has peace, stunning scenery and the opportunity to while away the day in sun, then Pomegranate Villas are the perfect place!
