Villa Zeytin is a 3-bedroom villa, ideal for couples, families and groups of friends. As the pool is 1.8m deep throughout, we don't recommend the villa for families with very young children. We are at the end of a cul-de-sac, the last villa in the group, and 10-15 minutes walk to the centre of town. Push bikes can be rented in town, if you prefer to cycle. Trips to the magnificent 7km-long Iztuzu beach, where Turkey's first Turtle Rescue Centre is sited, can be made on the local bus (dolmus) or by river taxi. An excellent cafe/bar offers shade and refreshments all day, and you can hire sunbeds with parasols for a few lira. There are plenty of activities and boat trips organised from Dalyan, including scuba diving and snorkelling, bird watching on Koycegiz Lake, exploring sites such as the ancient city of Caunos and jeep safaris, or you can spend your days relaxing by the pool, or walking and cycling in the foothills of the mountains. There's a simple but very efficient barbecue for al-fresco meals at the villa or a wide choice of restaurants in town. Our recommendations are in the Villa.

There is a generous-sized stone terrace with low wooden seating and table. A flowery pergola provides shade for outdoor meals and there is a selection of areas to place sun loungers and chairs, in the shade or in the sun. There is private access to the pool, via a series of steps or by diving in at the end of the pool. The pool is open from the beginning of May to the end of October.
Our English-speaking host will meet you at the villa to show you round. She is available for any help with general advice, booking restaurants or trips or in any emergency. There is maid service most days, to empty bins, wash up and make beds.
The Turkish Aegean Coast region
Dalyan is on a river delta, about 20 minutes by road from the sea. On the far side of the river are the famous Lycian rock tombs, illuminated at night, and the fascinating ruins of the Lycian city of Caunos. The river feeds into the huge lake of Koycegiz, with the town of Koycegiz at the far end and mud baths and sulphur springs on the shore half way up. Dalyan is in a Special Conservation Area and there is a dedicated group of conservationists who are working to protect the reedbeds, beach and forests around the town.
There's a range of organised trips to take in and around Dalyan, from boat trips up the lake, sea fishing or around the 12 islands off Gocek to jeep safaris and hikes. Alternatively you can hire a car or scooters and explore yourself. There are a number of ancient sites within an hour's drive from Dalyan.

"Perfect villa, lovely location, loads to do"
Villa Zeytin is in a block of 4 similar villas all connected by an idyllic 50m pool - the main feature of the block. It is set on the edge of Dalyan overlooking fields in a peaceful location just a 15 minute walk from the centre of town where you can find all the usual touristy-type bars, restaurants, shops and travel agents typical of a busy Turkish tourist town.
Busy in the summer - but not over crowded - Dalyan is a historic town built on a river half way between the beautiful fresh water Koycegiz lake and the even more beautiful (and protected from development) sandy Turtle Beach - one of the main nesting beaches in the Med for the Loggerhead turtles. Local boatkeepers will ferry you either way for about 10-lira - or better still hire a private captain for about 120-lira (£40 approx) a day (for the boat) and take all your family and friends on a memorable day trip to both locations and visit the traditional mud baths at Sultaniye and the admirable Turtle Hospital at the seaside.
The villa itself is suitable for up to six people (in three bedrooms, all with air-con), it has adequate downstairs living accommodation, tho you probably wont use the sitting room in the summer, its much better to sit out on the patio, cook on the BBQ and eat out while the sun goes down. The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, washing machine and large fridge and more plates, glasses and cups than you can use. A maid will come in daily to empty the bins, make the beds and generally tidy up and a gardener is on hand twice a day to water the plants, maintain the pool and generally help out with any small issues you may have - like ordering more bottled water. A villa manager lives just a few minutes away to arrange transfers, day trips and offer advice on shopping and anything else you can think of.
The pool is unique insofar as it offers seclusion if you want it because of its circular 'pods' or the ability to mingle with the other holiday-makers at the similar three detached villas if you want to swim the 50m-length of it. It is ideal for 'good' swimmers and great for 'not-so-good' swimmers because of the steps into it.
Overall a great villa, perfect holiday location and wonderful friendly people make Villa Zeytin and Dalyan an ideal holiday destination.

"A peaceful, homely villa with a fabulous pool"
My partner and I had a lovely week's holiday at Villa Zeytin. The owner organised a reasonably priced airport pick-up and drop-off which I recommend as a hassle free start to the holiday. The villa manager, Dondu greeted us and was very helpful through out our stay. Super kitchen facilities and there is very effective air-conditioning in the bedrooms. Cleaner came every day. Good Information at the villa about things to do so you can plan your time. There is a lot to do and see in the area so you can just arrive and then decide how relaxing or action packed you want your holiday to be. We used Kaunos Tours for some of our trips.
The villa is about a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Dalyan which can be tiring at the end of a long, hot day but that's what makes the location so quiet and relaxing. We used bikes which is a great way to get around but a taxi is quite a cheap option.
The 50 m shared pool is fabulous and a guy came every day to tend. It is about 2 lanes wide along the length of four villas with each villa having it's own private, circular bit. It's 1.8 metres deep throughout so great for swimming but I wouldn't advise children who can't swim using it.
There is a shaded area at the back, near the pool which we used for eating and generally lying about in - I'm more of a shade bather!
The website images and information were accurate.
This is my second visit to Dalyan, first to this Villa and I would like to return, maybe in spring or autumn next time.
