The Turkish Aegean Coast region

This truly wonderful unspoilt area of Turkey is the perfect place to enjoy the relaxing and exotic culture of Turkey.

Not only is this area ideal for nature/wildlife seekers but also offers the historic and adventurous traveller many exciting opportunities to experience and explore. For those wishing to just relax and unwind there are many beautiful sandy beaches and coves to explore.

This region is a conservation area and therefore not spoilt by endless building and construction.

The climate is outstanding, expect clear blue skies and perfect sunshine. A refreshing breeze can be felt from the river.

The extensive reed beds harbour rare and varied bird and animal life. The Aegean coast is the most beautiful coastline of Turkey, with pine clad mountains dropping into the clear blue waters.

The weather is generally very good all the way through from April to October and can get very hot. There tends to be a gentle breeze which is welcome either in off the sea or from the mountains.

Dalyan offers a perfect combination of sea, beach, fresh water lake and river, nestling in a mountain landscape and surrounded by pomegranate fields, pine trees and citrus groves.

Dalyan town is situated beside the delta river which flows past the world famous mountain tombs, has a fresh water lake one end and leads to a protected Turtle sanctury beach by the sea. A short river taxi ride or local bus will take you to the beach which is approx 5km from town centre. Across the river is the ancient city Caunos, and upstream is a large freshwater lake where you can find Sultanye Thermal Baths, Mud Baths and fishing areas and quiet beaches. There is a golf course 30 mins drive away, horse riding nearby and watersports.

There is a local weekly market which stocks a wide choice of foods, clothing and gifts at reasonable costs, several local supermarkets, an internet cafe close by. From town centre you can take a bus to a number of local attractions which run throughout the week. A short bus or taxi ride is Ortaca which offers much more variety of shops and amenities. From centre of town you can hire a car or bicycles.

The Villa is in the Arikbasi area of Dalyan, which is one of the more quiet areas of Dalyan, allowing you a peaceful and tranquil place to thouroughly unwind. The town centre is 25 mins walk away, where all amenities are available, shops, bars, restaurants, small supermarkets, bank, post office ( best place to change your sterling) etc. So this holiday gives you the best of both worlds; a beautiful villa, pool and gardens to fully relax, with the town not too far away to enjoy the hub bub of Turkish local life.

Review 1-1 of 1

1 Jan 2014

"A little peace of heaven on earth"

This was our 1st time dealing with owners direct and our 1st time visiting Turkey so didn't really know what to expect. Jeanette was very helpful and understanding she sent us a list of things to do while there . The villa was out of this world with 5 lovely double bedrooms 3 with on suit the other two being downstairs and next to the family bathroom. The kitchen/living room is large an roomy with everything you need for a restful stay. The gardens and pool area is just to die for we were a party of 8 adults and 1 child (18m) there was more than enough room for us all. The villa is a little out of town however we had a car which only gave us a 5 Min drive to town Dalyan is a lovely town with lots to do and see the boat trip to the beach is something else. I must sat that I had heard that the Turkish people would be very in your face. That couldn't be further from the truth they are very friendly and helpful What liked best: the boat trip and the people What I liked least: going home Would/have recommend the villa and the area to friends As a party we all agreed it was our best holiday and we are all planning to go back in 2014
