Enquire nowThe Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Dalyan is a small town on the south west corner of Turkey's Mediterranean coast. It is surrounded by pine-clad mountains, cotton fields, fruit orchards and miles of untouched coastline.
Dalyan is set on a river delta. Small boats carry holidaymakers daily along the narrow waterways to the sandy 6km Iztuzu beach (Turtle beach). The beach is a protected National Conservation area and is the breeding ground of the endangered Loggerhead Caretta Caretta turtle.
Steeped in history, Dalyan is overlooked by ancient Lycian Rock Tombs and across the river are the ruins of the ancient city of Caunos. The site has been partially excavated and includes a theatre dating back to the 2nd century BC, Roman Bathes, the Temple of Apollo and a marketplace.
Other popular activities are visiting the Mud Baths and Thermal Springs on Lake Koycegiz, shopping at the local Saturday market, scuba diving and hiking.
There is plenty to see and do in the Turquoise Coast. Or you can just relax on the beautiful beaches:
Featured on Channel 4's "A Place In The Sun"
Iztuzu Beach locally known as 'Turtle Beach' has been designated as a conservation area of outstanding natural beauty. The beach is rated as one of the top ten in the world.
It was proclaimed 'Best Open Space in Europe' by The Times in 2008 and prime breeding ground for sea turtles.
Swim in the warm clear Mediterrian or the tranquil waters of Lake Koycegiz, the choice is yours!
The climate in this region is lovely as you would expect from Turkey. The summer months are warm but not excessive as a fresh breeze blows through Dalyan across the river delta keeping the temperature very pleasant.
Lake Koyceoiz: The lake has been almost completely cut off from the sea by the sediment carried down by the local rivers. However, there is still a channel that links the lake to the sea. Boat trips are available on the lake taking in the mud baths and thermal springs.
Rock Tombs of the Kings: Theses tombs are the resting places of the kings of Caunos.
Rock tombs can be seen along the Lycian coast, with the best examples located at Dalyan.
The Ancient City of Caunos. A short river boat ride will take you to the site of the ancient city of Caunos. Caunos was once a significant trading port in ancient times, however, over time its harbour filled with sand and silt.
The Dalyan / Gulpinar area
Dalyan is a beautiful family resort set between 'Turtle Beach' and lake Koycegiz, home the famous mud baths and thermal springs. These are great fun and the adults and kids alike will join in.
Dalyan is really one of the Mediterranean's best kept secrets. The area was made famous by the featured rock tombs and ancient city of Kaunos which can be visited by crossing the river and a short walk.
Lots of visitors to Turkey get an opportunity to visit the Dalyan area when staying at other resorts, few get the opportunity to stay and appreciate this wonderful holiday destination.
It really is a stunning area with lots to do for all ages in a safe secure environment. Numerous great-value restaurants and bars- 50% cheaper than UK or Europe.
Thermal Springs and Mud Baths: Dalyan is the centre for many therapeutic hot springs and mud baths. The waters contain radioactive elements and sulphur believed to offer beneficial relief from many disorders.
Mud baths are also said to remedy many health conditions as well as offering beauty treatment for the skin.
Things to do within easy driving distance:
Golf ( New 18 hole course completion 2011) Situated at the 'Hilton Dalaman', about 25minutes away including
a health resort and Spa.
River boat cruises / Sailing / Canoeing
Jeep Safari
Scuba diving
Cycling / Treking
Fishing
White Water Rafting
Horseriding
There is a market on Monday at Koycegiz, on Tuesday in Fethiye, on Wednesday in Dalaman, on Thursday in Mugla, on Friday in Ortaca, and on Saturday in Dalyan
Turkey really is 'where East meets West'. Shopping prices are very reasonable and the local market on Saturdays provides an excellent way to pick up bargains and mix with the friendly local people.
There are lots of bars, many of which have live music, and for the teenagers, there is a disco/club at the top end of the town.
The shops are colourful and offer a wide range of western and Turkish goods. Most shops stay open past midnight! Great deals can be negotiated, but remember to haggle!

| Airport: | Dalaman: 30 km |
The newly built Dalaman airport is less than 30 minutes by car from the apartments. Airport transfers can be arranged if required and cost £27 for up to 4 people each way. Transfer through the airport is really easy and quick, just remember your £10 visa payment at passport control!
Car hire is also an option if you want to tour around while in Turkey, however it really isn't necessary in the Dalyan area. Prices should be around £100/£120 per week.
There are flights to Dalaman from most major U.K. and European airports.
In the past we have used aegeanflights.com, easyjet, Thomas Cook.
The resort is within an hours drive of Maramis and Fethiye.
