Although we had travelled all over the world we fell in love with Turkey and in particular Dalyan. The weather was perfect. The people friendly and honest. We were tired of large crowded places and impersonal hotels. We dreamed of a beautiful and undiscovered paradise away from the crowds of Fethiye and Marmaris.
Dalyan is a beautiful conservation area famous for unspoit İztuzu beach, birds and wildlife, historical sites, boat trips on the river, volcanic lake and beaches. There is a trip for every day of the week but our favourites are the 12 island boat day trip and of course Lake Koycegiz and the Mud baths.
We bought our villa and personally renovated the property because new villas either were slighlty too far out of town or had no authentic Turkish charm. We are situtated at the end of a quiet road away from the main street but still close to town.
We love not having a car as everything is conveniently within walking distance. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around town and along the water front and even a couple of nightclubs tucked away!

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Fantastic Mediterranean climate with a refreshing breeze and without the overcrowding of other resorts.
Locally the 7 kilometres of unspoilt Iztuzu beach is a popular attraction along with the many historical sites and wildlife spotting, walking and cycling.
Dalyan is a beautiful conservation area famous for boat trips on the river, and to the lake and beaches.
Dalyan / Sulungar Mahalle area
The unspoilt beach is within easy reach as well, as are the many restaurants and walks along the river, being the main attractions for a weeks holiday.
Whilst two weeks allows you to fully explore all the other beaches locally and travel by boat to the volcanic mud baths and thermal springs. As well as the historical sites at Tlos, Kaunos and Koycegiz. Nature lovers will enjoy the Loggerhead and river turtles, storks and other abundant bird and wildlife.
The Dalyan festival is usually on in July and celebrates Dalyan and Turkish life !
The resorts of Fethiye, Marmaris and Oludeniz are a 45 mınute drive away.
How to get there
Fly to Dalaman Airport approximately 3.5 hrs from the UK and only a 20 minute private taxi transfer to to our private villa. Return transfers arranged from 40 GBP.
If you drive yourself from Dalaman airport take the road to Ortaca and then follow signs to Dalyan (complete journey 22 kms).
Local taxis also available but are more expensive than pre-arranged transfers.

Further details indoors: The interior of the villa provides a large living & dining area with 3 comfortable bedrooms upstairs. Three balconies overlooking the grounds and providing scenic views. There is a large pergola to the rear of the property providing shade throughout the day. There is a safe for your valuables.
Further details outdoors: The property features a traditional Turkish cushioned kösk seating area for six and a relaxing hammock and balcony area in the front garden.
In the rear garden there is a large patio and swimming pool with a children's pool. The garden features a number of fruit trees, palms, vines and flowering plants.

We had a fantastic 2 week holiday in this villa in September. It was the most relaxing holiday we have had and all of us, including a first timer to Turkey, were very reluctant to leave. The villa was as described - turkish and with loads of character, brilliant. There were extras such as the water cooler, full air con and a lovely garden. The only way this holiday could be improved would be to have cushions or pads on the sunbeds, we would definitely not leave then!! Dalyan itself is a piece of heaven and all of the people we met including the staff at Kaunos Tours (the managing agents) made the holiday even better. "

Just returned from the villa it was execellent.We have never relaxed so much on a holiday to Turkey - and we have been many times ! Villa very well equipped , spacious and very clean.The agents who look after the villa could not be faulted,attending to any problem we had very quickly.We will definitely return to villa Caretta , Dalyan is remaining an unspoilt resort just right for a relaxing holiday. "We loved the location of this villa - it was only a short walk into town even with two toddlers and another one on the way, but very peaceful. Villa was clean and well appointed with generous accommodation. The villa is excellent value for money. If you are taking very young children just consider the fact that there are stairs and you may need to improvise a stair gate, plus the cot is suited more for a very young baby as an older one (ours was 13 months) could easily jump out. Would definitely recommend this if you fancy a quiet and peaceful holiday but with enough going on to keep you busy."
I had a faboulous lazy time in and out of the pool and enjoying the sun. The day trips and restaurants locally were an easy walk lovely.
The villa was very comfortable and clean and all the mod cons like the dish washer and water cooler and air con, were great. The Turkish people were really friendly especiallly at the family run hotel apartments next door.
