A five minute stroll to DALKEY town centre with it's many restaurants ,coffee shops and pubs. Dart train station only 150m( a 30min.commute to Dublin City Centre).

The East Ireland / County Dublin region

The coastal town of Dalkey ideally situated on the southern end of Dublin Bay, 30 mins. from the city centre and on the DART Train line. Dublin city has plenty of places of interest , Dublin Castle, museums, theatres, art galleries, parks, cinemas to the bustling shops in Grafton St and Henry St .

For concerts,events and sporting occasions there's the O2 venue at the Point, Croke Park & Landownes Road Stadiums, RDS exhibition centre . All the above on Dart line.

Horse racing in Leopardstown race course is only15 mins by Taxi.

Dalkey is ideally poistioned between Dublin City to the north and Co.Wicklow (the Garden of Ireland )to the south, Powerscourt and Glendalough in Co Wicklow are both worth a visit.

Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre includes a 14th Century fortified Town house, A 4th an a 10th Century Churchs a museum and Art Gallery ,the" Living History Tours" actors in period custume explain how Dalkey once was ! There are excellent coffee shops including "Idile wylde,""Mugs"",Country Bake" an more. Pubs include " The Ivory", good music on week nights",The Queens "in the centre of town,"The Club "on Colemore road ,and" Finnegans" on Sorrento Road
Restaurants including " Benitos ","Thai house "",Nosh,""The Guinea Pig "and many more
Amenities such as a library, hair salons, beauticians, clothes boutiques, pharmacies, ATM, banks, gift shop, florist, and a supermarket are all in Dalkey town
Walk down Colemore Road from the town out along the coast and sit and view Dalkey Island, walk a little further on to the Vico road and view the picture postcard 'Sorrento Terrace' looking out on Killiney bay - which is twined with the 'Bay of Naples' in Italy.

Travel from Dalkey to Dun Loaghaire along the coast ,visit the James Joyce Museum in Sandycove, The famous forty foot bathing area is beside the museum if you fancy a swim. Walk further along the coast to the East Pier at Dun Loaghaire Harbour and join the many locals who walk the Pier and back, If you don't fancy walking back to Dalkey just get the Dart back instead. Note for the younger visitors, theres a new Playground suitable for 3 to 12 year olds,only 150meters from Glenalua at the entrance to Killiney Hill Park
