Arendal is a modern spacious two storey house in a quiet residential area of Dalbeattie with easy access to the woodlands that adjoin the town. The house has full wheelchair access and is well fitted out to provide a comfortable holiday home for larger parties. Arendal is well positioned for exploring the adjoining area and the popular beach at Sandyhills is only about a five and a half mile drive. The popular seaside villages of Kippford and Rockcliffe are both within easy reach providing easy access to the Solway Coast walks and also watersport facilities.

The area is a mecca for those looking for outdoor pursuits with numerous golf courses including an eighteen hole links championship course at Southerness together with mountain bike routes in Dalbeattie Woods which are part of the Forestry Commissions 7Stanes Trails and the other trails are easily accessible from Dalbeattie. Local riding stables offer hacks and schooling. With the Solway Coast, rivers and lochs in the area there are plentiful opportunities for fishing. Scotlands heritage can also be explored and enjoyed with the historic towns of Dumfries and Kirkcudbright both within easy reach and also the renowned sites such as Sweetheart Abbey at New Abbey and historic castles including Threave Castle at Castle Douglas where you have to ring the bell to call the ferryman to carry you across the river to the castle. The castle is also close to the National Trust for Scotland gardens at Threave.
