About the home

One particularly fine detached holiday cottage is Rushcroft which dates back to the 1700's. The cottage has a large garden, which is perfect for families. There are some lovely traditional character details within the cottage such as a log fire. Cottages in Scotland offer good facilities and amenities; Rushcroft has a lounge with an open fire, television with Freeview channels and a DVD player. The kitchen has an electric oven, microwave, washing machine and a fridge/freezer. There are three bedrooms, two of which have two single beds and the third with one single bed. The cottage offers a separate bathroom and shower room both with W.C and basin.

The Dumfries and Galloway region

Just over the English border lies Dumfries and Galloway in the west and the Scottish Borders in the east. These two very distinctive areas have retained a totally rural and tranquil atmosphere where visitors can enjoy a wonderful holiday away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.In fact here you'll find miles of beautiful untouched countryside and striking coastlines; a great place for outdoors holidays, fishing, walking, sailing and cycling. The Dalbeattie area

There are plenty of Scottish cottages to select for an ideal holiday break. Rushcroft is set amidst a beautiful unspoiled part of Scotland. The area is very peaceful with many deserted beaches scattered around. There are forests, lochs, mountains, lakes, rivers and moors just waiting to be explored. The nearby areas of Dumfries and Galloway are perfect for outdoor activities such as cycling, fishing, trekking and a wide range of sports. Close by is Newton Stewart, a market town on the fringe of the River Cree. The town is close to Galloway Forest Park and is surrounded by countryside. There are many Scottish castles to visit such as Castle Douglas situated by the banks of Loch Carlingwark.
