Dalaman / Akkaya Valley area
Dalaman is an area of natural beauty. It is located between the sea and mountains and benefits from its proximity to many areas of interest both historical and geographic interest (e.g. Dalyan mud baths, ancient tombs etc). Dalaman is rapidy becoming an area of destination rather than just a stop over on the way to some other resort town. Recent investments to Airport, road ways and the continuous development of the area is making it more accessable. Over - development and exploitation of the area is stopped by the protection afforded to the rare loggerhead turtles that frequent the river and beach. This should ensure that Dalaman continues to develop in harmony with its surrounding environment and retain its natural beauty.
Dalaman town itself has many shops, restaurants, bars and tea gardens and is growing quickly due to the investment in the area. Dalaman has its own huge natural beach, although not overly commercial 'yet' it is still pleasant and hosts lots of wildlife.
The town is ideally situated for lots of resort areas but perfect if you prefer a quieter place to base yourself. There is also a tunnel underway to connect the town of Gocek and Dalaman, reducing the journey to only 5 or 10 minutes drive.
When you are in the area, make sure you visit the Dalyan (Köycegiz). You enjoy the Kaunos acheologist site and see the carved tombs in the Limestone mountain while crusing along the Dalyan river when you reach the shore, walk on Iztuzu Beach. The area is world's 6th most famous beach, it is 6 km long and enjoy the sea turtles (caretta-carrettas). The beach is a sactuary for sea turtles.
Dalaman is now rapidly becoming an investment area for many Europeans purchasing property for investment in Turkey. This seems due to many factors including the town being designated a main touristic area from now on: plans for new marinas and a golf course are underway.
How to get there
For most of the year charter airlines such as Fly Thomas Cook, XL Airline, Monarch all fly direct to Dalaman from London Gatwick or Manchester (much less frequent in winter). Easy Jet are are now flying direct to Dalaman (taking over the routes previously operated by GB Airways under contract with BA). Alternative is Turkish Airlines via Istanbul. www.travelsupermarket.com or www.skyscanner.com are good places to start for comparisons. Bodrum and Antalya are both about 3 hours drive from Dalaman.
The villa is in the mountains, overlooking a lake. Only about 20 mins from Dalaman airport.

This villa sleeps 10 comfortably in 1 double and 2 twins and 1 double bunk bedrooms and there is sleeping for 2 more in the lounge. It is furnished to a very high standard with all modern conveniences for a perfect stay. The lounge also has comfortable double bed settee that converts for an extra 2 guests when required. The large kitchen and lounge open onto the fabulous terrace and pool area. The kitchen is well equipped with dish washer, washing machine, full oven, microwave, fridge freezer and full compliment of kitchen equipment. The lounge also benefits from a full music system and English Satelite tv. The whole villa is fully air conditioned.
The master bedroom is large and has access to the out-door balcony and an en suite shower and toilet . The twin/bunk bedrooms share the shower/bath and toilet room on the first floor and the second twin room has shower/bath and toilet room upstairs on the third floor. 2 of the twin rooms have access to a furnished balcony. From the balcony, the views are stunning of the gardens and pool and the beautiful mountain scenery and the lake. All bedrooms have TV and DVD players.
Further details outdoors: The villa is situated on a steep hillside and may not suitable for people with disabilities. The swimming pool is unfenced (Turkish Standards) and is close to the villa so extra care and supervision needs to be taken with young children, also the top floor balcony has a low railing so again extra care and supervision needs to be taken with children at all times. The door leading to the top balcony can be kept locked for extra security when children may not be supervised. (the owner will not accept responsibility for any injuries or accidents resulting from a lack of parental supervision.)
Conditions
A 20% booking deposit (non refundable) will be required to secure booking. Full rental is payable not less than eight weeks before the start of the rental period. In event of cancellation, refunds of amount paid will be made if the owner is able to re-let the property. A refundable damage/breakages deposit of £200 is required 8 weeks prior to arrival. This will be returned on clearance by local agent, approx one week after departure.
Smoking is strictly not permitted inside the villa (though is permitted outside on the terraces), and any breach of this house rule will result in retention of the security deposit.
Kindly note that beach towels are not supplied. Bath towels provided may be used around the pool (but please do not take these to the beach).
