About this location
The Turkish Aegean Coast region
The Turkish Riviera known as the Turquoise Coast is a term used to define an area of southwest Turkey encompassing the provinces of Antalya & Mugla.
With a favourable climate, warm sea & more than a 1000 kilometers of shoreline along the Aegean & Mediterranian, this makes for a popular tourist destination.
Among the archeological points of interest are two of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World: The ruins of the Mausoleum of Maussollos in Halicarnassus; and the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus.
The Turkish Riviera is also the home for the internationally-known Blue Voyage, which allows participants to enjoy a week-long trip on the locally-built gulet type schooners to ancient cities, harbors, tombs, mausolea and intimate beaches in the numerous small coves, lush forests and streams that lace the Turquoise Coast.
1 Kaya Köyü This abandoned Greek Orthodox village near Fethiye is a moving relic of the population exchange of 1923.
2 Paragliding at Ölüdeniz A thrilling (if pricey) way of appreciating the stunning lagoon and beach.
3 Tlos Perhaps the most dramatically sited of the numerous ancient cities of Lycia.
4 Patara Ancient ruins enhanced by an enormous sandy beach, one of the longest in the Mediterranean.
5 Ka? Opposite the Greek islet of Kastellórizo, this is one of the most congenial resorts on the coast, with some of the best scuba-diving in the Med.
6 Kekova The eerie seascapes and submerged ruins of this inlet system make an ideal sea-kayaking venue.
7 Ç?ral? Unspoilt nature-lovers' paradise with a turtle-nesting beach, an ancient city at the south end and the spectacular foothills of Tahtal? Da? just inland.
Dalaman is popular with visitors from western Europe who flock here during the summer months for the hot sunshine to enjoy the glorious beaches and historic landmarks. Among British visitors, Turkey is one of the top holiday destinations and aside from the superb scenery and cultural heritage, an important reason for Turkey`s popularity is its excellent currency exchange rate for the Euro.
Dalaman town has many shops, bars, restaurants and tea gardens. It also has an individual enormous natural beach only 9km from the town. There is also an underground tunnel that links the town of Gocek and Dalaman by reducing the journey to only a 5-10 minute drive, with the bustling town of Fethiye only 40 minutes drive.
Among the activities of Turkish festival, free of charge public concerts, dances, contests in various branches, exhibitions, slide shows, tournaments, and circus shows are included.
Dalaman will be the mega tourism city of the future with its tourism cities, urban settlement areas, aqua products cultivation fields, great urban green areas, forest areas, great sports and game areas, thermal hotels, cure center's, yacht marina, ecological agricultural fields, golf courses, & high plateau houses.
