Dahab was originally a Bedouin fishing village where fisherman would come for its abundant marine life and cooling winds. It's a truly magical destination, considered to be one of the Sinai's most treasured diving & water sports destinations and perfect for both winter and summer sun.
Nestled on the shores of the Red Sea in the Gulf of Aqaba, Dahab was named after the Arabic word for gold and is a one hour drive through the spectacular desert from the airport in the more commercial resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
But the vibe in Dahab is very different. The village is a vibrant mix of cultures, populated with colouful hippy chic expats, white-robed Bedouin and their brightly adorned camels and mischievous Bedouin children, always ready to strike up a deal for a bracelet or two. Egyptian traders and shopkeepers sell their crafts, food and wares to the growing number of tourists who fall in love with beautiful, tranquil Dahab and return time and time again. Dahab can easily become a second home for those who seek its beautiful scenery, abundance of activities and amazingly friendly locals and expats who have chosen this lovely little town to be their home.
Renowned for its relaxed, tranquil and informal atmosphere, Dahab Bay offers an eclectic choice of restaurants, beach bars & bazaars selling an vast array of goods. The bars and cafes almost hover over the water and there are plenty of places to eat and relax after a day at play round the pool or in the sea. If you feel like a party, there are a few lively bars and clubs worthy of a visit that can keep you up all night.
Please look at skyscanner for a very good overview for flights from the UK and Europe into Sharm El Sheikh International Airport. We will be very happy to help with any flight search and can arrange return airport transfers for you to ensure a smooth start to your holiday.

About this location
The Red Sea and Sinai region
South Sinai is a really special place, famous as the home of Mount Sinai, where Moses is believed to have received the Ten Commandments. Thousands of tourists go every year to see the Monastery of St Katherine, built around the site of the Burning Bush, where Christian monks have lived since the 6th century. These important sites are in the town of St Katherine, in the heart of South Sinai, a one and a half hour's drive from Dahab. After climbing 'The Moses Mountain', you are rewarded with a breathtaking view and the famous sunrise at the summit of Sinai's highest peak… an experience not to be missed whilst in Sinai!
The landscape and wildlife of South Sinai are unique. Inland, the dramatic mountains of the desert shelter rare plants and animals and off the coast are some of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world. South Sinai's shores run into the Red Sea, and tourists come year-round to view the spectacular marine life and abundance of corals.
Nestled on the shores of the Red Sea in the Gulf of Aqaba, Dahab, named after the Arabic word for gold, borders the Gulf of Aqaba, and is an hour's drive through spectacular desert from the airport in the more commercial resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
But the vibe in Dahab is very different. The village is a small, vibrant mix of cultures populated with white-robed Bedouin and their brightly adorned camels, the women swathed in black and the children, multicoloured and mischievous, are always ready to strike up a deal for a bracelet or two.Egyptian traders and shopkeepers sell their crafts, food and wares to the growing number of holiday makers who are enjoying Dahab's friendly, personal vibe.
The bars and cafes almost hover over the water of the bay, where there are plenty of places to eat and relax after a day at play round the pool or in the sea. If you feel like a party, there are a few lively bars in town worth a visit that can keep you up all night.
Dahab is famous for its abundance of marine life and cooling summer winds. It is one of the Red Sea´s oldest scuba diving resorts and hosts some of the most spectacular and challenging dive sites in Egypt.
It is now just as popular as a budget holiday resort location for those who simply want to relax and get some sun, however with camel safaris, snorkelling trips, and desert excursions, there's plenty to keep you occupied too. All in all, Dahab is the perfect place for a Red Sea beach, water sports or diving holiday.
The rugged landscape is home to the Bedouin, who for generations have thrived here. The local tribe are called 'Muzeina' and are still very much a part of Dahab. They contribute greatly to the laid back vibe and style that makes Dahab a unique resort, very different to the larger, more crowded destinations of Sharm and Hurgada.
Red Sea diving is arguably among the very best in the world. Renowned for its breathtaking variety of reef and fish life Red Sea diving has something for everyone. Our affiliated centre, Reef 2000, a 10 minute walk away, is a PADI 5*Gold Palm Resort and IANTD Technical Instructor Training facility.
