About the home

Relax by the pool of this beautiful private self catering villa. The pool, approx 8 x 5m, is surrounded by a shaded colonnade with outdoor dining area, sofa and sunbeds. Beautiful, private and relaxing during the day and even more stunning at night.

Surrounded by mature gardens the villa itself is spacious and well equipped. The large kitchen/diner has a fridge/freezer, filter coffee machine, microwave, oven, washing machine and dishwasher. The living room has a music system with speakers outside by the pool, as well as satellite tv, dvd player and air conditioning.

The master bedroom has a double bed, plenty of storage space and an ensuite bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has twin beds, again plenty of storage and ensuite shower room. Both bedrooms are air conditioned.

The pool and gardens are cared for daily by Ahmed - a local Bedouin - who is also on hand for a weekly clean and laundry change. The owner lives next door and is happy to offer local advice and assist if there is a problem.

The Red Sea Riviera/Sinai region

Dahab is a small resort town on the shores of the Red Sea where tourists rub shoulders with the Bedouin, Egyptian and foreign residents. It boasts a relaxed atmosphere, marvellous weather and a host of activities that the Red Sea and Sinai desert offer.

Scuba diving amongst the corals and fish of the Red Sea is one of the most popular activities, reflected by the many dive centres around town. Windsurf and kite centres are concentrated around the beach at the lagoon where conditions are ideal.

Take a trip inland to explore the amazing scenery of the Sinai desert. No trip is complete without visiting Mt Sinai and St Catherine's monastery.

The Dahab / El Asalah area

Dahab has grown from a small Bedouin village to a lovely welcoming tourist town offering a large variety of accommodation, restaurants, coffee shops and bazaars.

Dahab offers something for all - scuba diving, windsurfing and watersports, desert trips, yoga and wonderful weather all year. Along the shore line are numerous small beach cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and bars as well as hotels and dive centres.

In Asalah, supermarkets, fruit stalls, a bottle shop and the German Bakery can all be found within a easy three minute walk from the villa.

“Fantastic villa for relaxing outside and letting go.” Myself and three friends travel to Dahab at least once a year, and after staying at Bombay Villa I can hardly imagine staying anywhere else on our next trip. The pool was the highlight of the trip, and that is where we spent most of our time. The indoor accommodations were clean and comfortable. Because of the season, there were some bugs. Putting on bug spray and using raid plug ins took care of that problem. It is also fair to let anyone staying there know that the tap water had a brownish tint, but this doesn't matter because the owner provides clean drinking water for guests. We had one problem with our air conditioner, and the owner had it fixed within about an hour. Traveling from the airport was simple because a ride was arranged for us, and the owner welcomed us upon arrival. She is prompt, helpful, and friendly. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation!

“A marvellous villa giving tranquility even with kids!” When I walked into the villa grounds my first impression was the vibrant colours from the plant life, compared to the stark desert background of Dahab, and framed by palacial white collonades of the villa. The villa was imaculately clean when we arrvied, with crisp white linen on the beds. The pool was swept daily and was the most glorious respite to the heat of the day. There is so much room around the pool that despite being 8 of us there was plenty of room to sit, lounge, sunbathe or swim without being on top of each other. It was lovely to be able to choose wether or not to able outside for meals to the plentiful and good local restaraunts, or to smaple the wonderful fruit and veg of the local market and eat at home. Definately a place i will recommend to friends and to return to again.
