Spoil yourself in our very comfortable ground floor apartment. Overlooking Gosau village and the Dachstein mountain range with peaks soaring to 10,000 feet, the views are nothing short of amazing. Our studio is 500 meters from the village centre with its supermarket, banks and souvenir shops. In a quiet position close to the babbling river, our apartment is part of the 4 star Hotel Sport Gosau. Our clients are free to use the small indoor swimming pool and the sauna and gym. For an extra charge steam baths and massage are also available - as well as indoor tennis and bike hire.

The Upper Austria/Salzkammergut region

The Lake District of Austria this area was made famous as the backdrop for the film The Sound of Music. Soaring 10,000 feet peaks, glaciers, mountains with giant ice caves and valleys carpeted in green. An adundance of snow provides wonderful powder skiing in the winter months.

Dachstein West / Gosau area

Just 64 kms south of Salzburg, Gosau is a haven of peace and a great place to escape the hustle & bustle of modern life but also has lots of sporting activities to satisfy everyone.
In the Winter 140 kms of ski runs are serviced by more than 40 lifts. Snowmaking ensures the runs are always well groomed even though the area gets much more than its fair share of natural snow. The season runs from the beginning of December to the beginning of April. For Lunch there are 20 cosy mountain huts and restaurants to choose from and the ski school has a great reputation especially with children. The runs down are much less crowded than other larger resorts and give spectacular views of the surrounding peaks.
A free ski bus runs from directly outside the Hotel to the main lift terminals ( the new Hornspitz 2 stage fast chairlift and the new Gondola lift ). The hotel provides ski and boot storage rooms.
Horse drawn sleigh rides are also available as well as 45kms of cross country skiing - tobogganing and plenty of cleared winter walks.
In the Summer, the natural beauty of the mountains and Glacier lake come in to their own. There are many places to visit in the area including the Gosausee Glacier Lake - the lakeside village of Hallstatt ( a world heritage site ) - the Giant Ice caves at Obertraun (accessible by cable car) - the salt mines at Hallstatt - the beautiful village of St Wolfgang plus numerous picturesque lakes.
Mountain biking is popular in the Summer months and Gosau is part of a 400km network of well signposted cycle paths. For hikers and walkers there are 250 kms of paths ranging from easy strolls to difficult ascents. A cable car operates in the summer up to the Zwieselalm with stunning views of the glacier lake and glacier. Fishing and Horse riding are also available.
Over the past few years, Autumn has been warm and sunny with the trees changing to wonderful reds and golds.
Springtime sees the alpine flowers coming into bloom and snow melting fast.

A south facing private balcony leads into a lounge area with colour tv and dvd player. The comfortable sofa opens to form a small double bed - great for one child up to 14 years of age. Further back there is a large double bed with plenty of wardrobe space. A door leads to a small kitchen area with all the mod cons that you will need. A separate bathroom with bath and shower completes the facilities with plenty of hot water available. The apartment is best suited to a couple or family with one baby or child up to 14 years old.
The Hotel also has a very nice restaurant and bar, which our guests can use for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

A local village tourist tax is payable to the hotel of Euros 1.30 per day per adult and Euros 0.43 per child per day.
