Home description
A little village casita, completely self contained with a private terrace. It is situated at the edge of the beautiful but little-known white village of Cutar. The wooden ceilings and clay floor tiles create a warm atmosphere, enhanced by handwoven rugs on the walls and floor, richly coloured furnishings and traditional Andalucian country furniture. The cottage has been completely renovated inside and out the Andalucian style, preserving the traditional features, but including modern appliances. Completely self-contained, it could also be booked with the two bedroom cottage next door (property number 11845)
Outside the front door there's a pretty patio in patterned stonework, decorated with Borgainvillia, fragrant frangipani, geraniums, lavender and a giant flowering cactus . The door of the cottage opens into kitchen and living area with an attractive open fireplace in traditional brickwork. The high beamed ceilings help stabilize the summer and winter temperatures.
The bathroom is tiled in white and terracotta and has white ceramic bathroom suite including bidet.
The romantic, Andalucian-style bedroom is furnished with a Spanish antique double bed and wardrobe.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Situated to the east of Malaga, the Axarquia region of Andalucia is one of the most stunning parts of Southern Spain. The scenery is breathtaking and boasts rolling hills and vast mountain ranges, peaceful lakes and valleys. It also has one of the best climates in Europe, birdlife is abundant and the hills are ablaze with flowers and blossom from January onwards. The ancient city of Antequera is almost as close as Malaga and well worth a visit, with the El Torcal park nearby and the unmissable springtime visit of the pink flamingoes. Ronda is within easy reach and the world heritage city of Cordoba is just possible on a day trip. One of the most attractive prospects for the day tripper is the Moorish City of Granada – home of the poet Lorca, the world famous Alhambra and the Generalife gardens - is an hour and a half away on the motorway.
Cutar area
Located off the main tourist route, Cutar has a lot of charm and is a quiet, traditional village with architecture that strongly reflects its Moorish heritage. In the shadow of the 16th Century church the white houses and small narrow streets tumble down the hillside. Because of the very mild semi-tropical climate, farmers grow mangos, avocados, citrus fruits, dates, figs, pomegranate, guava, sugar cane and the heavy, delicious Muscat grapes. The grapes are dried into raisins or made into the famous Malaga muscatel dessert wine. The village has a general store, a pharmacy, a bakery, two bars and the traditional way of Andalucian life. Banks, cash machines, supermarkets, restaurants and (in the summer) open air swimming pools can be found 5-10 minutes drive away in the neighbouring villages of El Borge, Almachar and Benamargosa. Drive 20 minutes south of the village to the small Spanish resorts of Torre del Mar and Rincon de la Victoria. Drive 25 minutes east to the attractive seaside resort of Nerja. East of Nerja, the deserted rocky coves of the small white hamlet of Maro and beyond, offer opportunities for snorkeling. Malaga itself is a wonderful town, still largely undiscovered by tourists - well worth a visit for the new Picasso Museum, the Moorish Alcazabar, the Arab baths and excellent bodegas. Traditional Fiestas take place in Cutar and nearby villages throughout the spring, summer and autumn and nature and wildlife lovers will find many delightful places to walk in the nearby hills and countryside.

Guestbook
"Delightful - we will definitely be recommending the casita to others"
"We thought Cutar and the cottage were wonderful. The chickens, the donkeys, the horses, the farmers checking their vines and getting ready for the harvest were sights we will remember most from the terrace. We sat there for hours just watching! "
