Farmhouse | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 10
The accommodation is the old farm to the Châteaux de Cussay, this dates back to 1268 when the first record of the châteaux can be traced as being sold to Guy the Doyen of St Martin. The main West-facing wall is formed from the original châteaux ramparts and vestiges of these are present through out the grounds as well as entrances to caves and tunnels. The locals swear there is a tunnel linking La Roche d’Enchaille with the Church in the centre of Cussay some 5 km away. The châteaux had several roles during its long history, including operating as a mint striking coinage back in the 16th century and more recently as a “Relais de Post'.

I really struck gold with this Gite - WOW.
I visited this gite in October with my father, we both needed a relaxing break and this place certainly ticked all the boxes. The Gite is situated in a beautiful location, it has everything you could possibly want and then some. The hosts have really gone the extra mile in decorating and providing a real home from home (well actually I would willingly swap my home for this one!!) There is an excellent internet connection for those who want it. The kitchen is fitted out with everything you could need. The rooms are inviting and comfortable with lovely little touches and it was so clean. It would be great for a family with kids of all ages or a trip with friends and family, everyone is accommodated for here.
As for the surrounding area - it is beautiful - lots of things to do and see.
I have already booked to return with my partner and can't wait.
