About the home
Located 20 minutes from the beach at La Tranche sur Mer and 10 minutes from shopping, restaurants and markets. This is a perfect base to explore the Vendee and enjoy the pleasures of walking, bird watching, fishing, numerous water sports, tennis and 500km of dedicated cycling routes. Ther are two adult bikes available for your use.
The studio is comfortably furnished and has all you will need to enjoy your stay. There is a sleeping area with a very comfortable double bed, a living area for lounging and dining, a kitchen and shower room.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Vendee region
The Vendee enjoys 2,500 hours of sunshine a year which can be enjoyed along the 140km of sandy beaches.
The south Vendee has a relatively flat terraine which makes it perfect for cycling and there are hundreds of kilometres of cycling track throughout the region. You can either bring bikes or hire them once you get here.
La Tranche sur Mer, the nearest beach has one of the leading centres for windsurfing and along the coast there are also regular sailing regatta's.
Within half an hour drive there are Floral Parks and Chateaux to visit. The vineyards of Mareuil- sur- Lay are 15 minutes away.
If you want to explore the past, the Grand Parc Puy de Fuy is the leading historical and ecoligical theme park in France and only 45 minutes away. You can visit by day or night, although the night shows are only between June and September but well worth the visit.
The Curzon area
Curzon is a quiet village, there is a bread van which comes every morning but you can find all you need in Lucon (10 mins drive away)

After a long drive down we arrived early evening, and received a warm welcome from Neil and Nickie, we then settled down into the gite and discovered a nice cold bottle of 'bubbly' in the fridge - most welcome! The gite itself is compact and cosy - ideal for a couple. A lot of thought has obviously gone into furnishing and preparing the property, as there is everything you would need to spend an enjoyable week (or two) here. We made full use of the two bikes, as there are many cycle tracks in the vicinity. We also used them for collecting bread from the nearest bakery in St. Cyr (about a 15 minute ride (each way)). There are no shops or bars in the village (Curzon) - but this is no detriment at all. There are many areas of interest, only a fairly short car drive away. Lucon is a nice little shopping area with plenty of supermarkets, and the coast is not far away - we particularly enjoyed Les Sables-d'Olonne, L'Aiguillone-sur-mer and La Tranche-sur-mer. All in all a most enjoyable week, and we look forward to our next visit. |

Quiet, relaxing, clean and comfortable with everything provided to enable us to self-cater. Very friendly owners who were there if we needed. Lovely pool. Suited our style of holiday. Did exactly "what it said on the tin " Many thanks to Neil & Nicki. Hope to return next year - maybe for more than 1 week. |

Don't be fooled by the size of the accommodation. The amenities are second to none. This is the smallest and yet best equipped place I have ever stayed in and the bed is comfy too! A real home from home and I would only hesitate to recommend this gite because I want it for myself! The hosts are present but unobtrusive and are really lovely people. |
