The Marche/Abruzzo region

The Marche Region is an unspoiled region, match point of cultures and different people, with its variety of natural environments, sea, mountains, hills and valleys - it fascinates the tourist and offers the opportunity to discover an enchanting landscape, expression of people who knew how to maintain a condition of an ideal life, where elsewhere has been lost. The whole Marches region preserves a wide cultural and historical heritage comprising well-known historical towns like Loreto, Recanati, Fermo as well as some of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy, like Acquaviva Picena and Offida, Macerata with a famous open-air opera theatre, Fermo etc. The Marches protects its natural environment through its National and Regional nature reserves, the oases of the WWF reserves, and the Monti Sibillini and Monti della Laga National Parks are peerless in their scenery and trekking offerings.Another must-see for tourists is the Frasassi Caves. Orchards and vineyards as far as the eye can see cover the hills of Piceno and extend through the Esino Valley; they surround farmhouses that offer the hospitality and genuine tastes of times past.

Cupra Marittima, a little sea town where the Village rises, has been awarded the European blue flag since 1999. It is situated on the Adriatic coast and nestled in the so called “Riviera delle Palme” is the right place to spend relaxing and enjoyable holidays. You will find any kind of comfort and you will enjoy the beautiful sandy beach. Cupra Marittima is part of the territory of the province of Ascoli Piceno which is very various: from the mountains Sibillini, with the lake of Pilato, covered by hills enriched with medieval suburbs, to arrive to the beach, characterized of fine and golden sand, which flows softly into the sea, characterized by an un-deep sea bottom. Among the various holidays and historical re-evocations has to be mentioned the Tournament of the Quintana, which brings you back in the age of the medieval knighties and which takes place every beginning of August in Ascoli Piceno; the people dressed with enriched and faithful medieval costumes, unthreading through the antique small streets to reach the court where the real tournament is taking place. One of the most important resources of this side of the sea is the fish, at which has to be united extra virgin oil, wines and typical meals, among these the "brodetto alla sanbenedettese" (Fish soup of San Benedetto) and the famous olives of Ascoli "olive ascolane".
