The Fife region
Nearby St. Andrews - Known as the home of golf, and home of Scotland's oldest university, St Andrews is a small town with a sizeable reputation that attracts visitors from all over the world.
The St Andrews Royal and Ancient Golf Club first met here in the spiritual home of golf in 1754, though it was first played here as early as the 15th century. The Old Course, most famous of the town's seven courses, is redolent of images of the world's greatest golfers at the British Open Championship down the years. You can actually play on the hallowed turf (and sand, rough, gorse etc) - however, you need to be rather good. Be inspired by golfing history at the British Golf Museum on the front near the clubhouse, or play a round on the Himalayas, a professionally good 18-hole putting course.
St Andrews University, founded in 1410, dominates the centre of town. The elegant, ivy-clad buildings and delightful quadrangles and gardens have seen a procession of famous graduates, recently including Prince William. The future king may have graduated, but it is still one of the top universities in Britain, often compared to Oxford and Cambridge for its defining presence and the collegiate feel it gives to the town.
The Medieval centre of St Andrews, with its narrow alleys and cobbled streets, leads to the now ruined cathedral (once the largest in Scotland) and the adjacent church of St Regulus, where you can climb the spiral staircase to the top of an 108-foot tower for magnificent views of the town and its surroundings. The castle, perched on a promontory overlooking the sea, was the dramatic stage for several of the most notorious episodes of the Reformation.
Within the local area that is a leisure centre, walks, bike trails and the beautiful fife coast.
There is plenty to do in Fife itself, with both Cairnie Mega Maze and The Scottish Deer Centre being only minutes drive away.

"Bucket list Ryder Cup guys' trip"
Great house! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a house in the area. I was on a guys' golf trip to the Ryder Cup and it was perfect for us .. house was exactly as advertised. Great location, close to St. Andrews and easy to get around. I would definitely rent again!

"Excellent place to stay"
Lovely home-from-home (but to a higher standard) house to stay in with helpful owners easily contactable if necessary. Good quality accommodation with plenty of facilities (the pool table was a firm favourite with my daughter). I have stayed there twice now and thoroughly enjoyed it.

"Fantastic accommodation and great location"
Just returned from a great weekend with the family at Hill View. Malcolm and Margaret gave us a very warm welcome and a quick guide of the house and we felt right at home immediately. The house is spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Highlights for us were the pool table, playing games in the dining room, the coffee machine and the lovely view from the secure garden. Hill View is a great base from which to explore Fife with beautiful St. Andrews just a short drive away. There is a supermarket and a pub both within ten minutes walk of the house and another ten minutes takes you into the centre of Cupar. Can't recommend this place highly enough - we'll definitely be back!

"spacious, clean, very comfortable with everything you need for an enjoyable stay."
We had a lovely time in cupar, the house was very comfortable and clean. It was great seeing cows and sheep just over the fence. Close to St Andrews we had a great day at the beach and a barbecue in the garden when we got back. The pool table was perfect for rainy days.

"Superb and peaceful location, lovely and well equipped house"
We had a super stay in Hill View and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. House was warm, spacious, well equipped and comfortable and we all enjoyed the pool table! Good location for visiting the east coast of Scotland and the lovely fishing villages. Would definitely go again.

"A home from home. A really comfortable holiday home!"
We travelled up from Hull (Me, my wife, our 2 year old son, mother-in-law and dog), which took a good length of time, but the hospitable nature of this property really helped us settle in very quickly. This was a very short stay for us and we 100% intend to return here!
I'd like to offer some sort of criticism but I can't. Although the owners Malcolm and Margaret live next door, they left us to our holiday and was in no way invasive. The only problem we had as getting connected to wifi, but a quick text message and we managed to resolve this (turn the router off and on again!).
Cupar itself appears a pleasant place and inoffensive. Even has a little park which was very welcomed by our little boy and our dog; not to mention us by wish of a lovely picnic :-)
The views from the house are just great.
I can't do anything but strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice base to holiday in the area.

Super accommodation, easily accessible and close to all necessary amenities, close to supermarkets, trains and buses.
The house is clean, comfortable and has all that you need, it is secure, in a quiet neighbourhood and has ample parking space in the drive for a vehicle.
I recommend a visit to the Falkirk wheel and close by the Kelpies. Also, a visit to St Andrews, Anstruther and pit n weem ports.
We had a very enjoyable week.
