Set within 30 acres of farmland and on the edge of the Blackdown Hills Halsbeer farm is the ideal place from which to explore Devon's picturesque countryside. Either on foot in the neighbouring Blackdown Hills, or by car with historic Honiton and the majestic Jurassic coast but a short drive away. We also have a heated indoor swimming pool to keep the kids entertained closer to home and ample space to kick a ball around in or take the dogs for a well deserved walk.

Swallow Cottage used to be an integral part of the working farm and date back to the Doomsday book although a lots changed since then! Sleeping 6 people, the cottage has been carefully restored with flagstone floors, oak beams and furnished with beautiful beds and ample furniture. Relax in-front of the tv, get online on your laptop or cook up a storm in our well equipped kitchens or simply relax with a book in our conservatory overlooking the duckpond.

The ground floor of Swallow cottage has traditional flag stoned floors and is home to a lounge and seperate kitchen both with patio access and a double bedroom with en-suite shower room. The large l-shaped lounge sits below a huge vaulted ceiling and will seat the whole family comfortably. It has a lcd tv/dvd and wi-fi access along with a dining table that seats six. The fitted oak kitchen is finished with granite worktops and a double range cooker along with everything else you'll need to make you feel at home whilst preparing food.

Swallow has far ranging views of the countryside from the lounge across the lawn and a private patio overlooking the duckpond along with barbeque and outside dining facilities.

The first floor houses two large double bedrooms both with 5' four-poster beds, vaulted ceilings and stripped pine floors. Each room has en-suite facilities with roll top baths, one with hand shower and one of the bedrooms also has a balcony with stunning views across the farm. The rooms have been finished in natural tones and furnished to a high standard to provide you with a luxurious and natural place to stay.

The West Country region

Our farm is set in a beautiful valley between the villages of Blackborough and Kentisbeare in The Blackdown Hills. A popular holiday destination it is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stretching from Wellington to Honiton and Membury.

The Blackdown Hills are a hidden gem often overlooked by people who escape to Dartmoor, Exmoor or to the Cornish coast. Tucked inbetween the M5, M4 and A303 routes into the westcountry the area is also easily accessed from all over the UK.

"Idylic Setting"

Had a lovely relaxing time at Swallow Cottage.
Location wise it was a bit remote however the local village with lovely pub and shop was a short drive away.
The ducks loved being fed every day and I think they grew in numbers as the week went on.
Cottage was lovely and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Private garden and BBQ area was brilliant with view of the duck pond.
