About the home

This stunning, tastefully decorated first floor apartment offers beautiful views from both of its balconies. One overlooks the orange trees in the peaceful courtyard and the other spacious balcony overlooks the large, inviting swimming pool which also has a children's pool. Both balconies are private and tranquil spaces to relax.

There are 2 comfortable bedrooms, master twin-bedded room has a large en-suite and there is a further shower room. The second bedroom also has twin beds. Very well equipped kitchen complete with washing machine, microwave and full size cooker. There is also a large roof terrace which belongs to the apartment, ideal to soak up the sun all day . This is also the perfect place to take in the wonderful far reaching views. The apartment is a short 5 minute walk from Club House and Championship Golf course Desert Springs.

The Club House has an award winning restaurant and a more casual bar menu. The Crocodile Club around the corner from the apartment is a very relaxing place to spend time or to eat. During the day you can eat very casually here. At night-time the atmosphere is relaxed candlelit dining, indoors or open-air on the terrace. It is possible to get delicious take-away food from here if you feel like eating in the apartment.

Desert Springs is also an ideal wedding venue and the apartment would be the perfect place for some of your guests to stay in comfort.

Each bedroom has 2 single beds with bedside table and large mirrored wardrobes. Hair dryer available.
Oil filled radiators and blankets available in each room for those unseasonal chilly nights!
In the lounge/diner there is Cable TV with video/dvd which receives BBC1 & 2 and a Stereo CD player, so bring along your favourite CDs.Large table and 6 leather dining chairs, ideal for entertaining. Leather sofa.
On the balcony there is a table and 4 chairs ideal for eating outside or just for those late morning breakfasts..alternatively for an early evening glass of wine and tapas as the sun goes down.

The Costa de Almeria region

The warmest and driest winter in all europe, the average maximum daily temperature is 19 degrees ( 67f) from October to March. The area boasts a year round average of a full nine hours of sunshine a day. In summer it is hot and dry inland but cooler on the coast at Mojacar and San Juan. Whilst Desert Springs, up on a plateau above the Almanzora, is cooled by pleasant sea breezes.
Almeria - the moorish 'Mirror of the Sea'. Smart and sophisticated with pavement cafes, university, intriguing shops and the most atmorspheric bars. Visit the gypsy quater and the fortified cathedral. The city of Almeria is dominated by the fortress of Alcazaba.
Mojacar - the picturesque and enchanting original Moorish hilltop village of Mojacar la Vieja overlooks the mediterranean sea, below on the coast Mojacar Playa provides lots of beach action, bars, restaurants and shops.
Garrucha - a bustling fishing port with a strong seafaring history, an enchanting promenade facing the wide sandy beach fronts a wealth of excellent restaurants and bars.

The Cuevas Del Almanzora / Desert Springs area

Mojacar Playa is the best nearby resort and is just 20 minutes drive away. It is a relatively low key and unspoiled resort with an excellent range of local and international restaurants, good blue flag sandy beaches and watersports. There is an aquapark and go-kart track within 10 minutes drive. THERE ARE 5 OTHER GOLF COURSES WITHIN 25 -30 min DRIVE including the (almost) equally good Valle del Este complex (20 mins)and the new courses at San Juan and Macenas (Mojacar). Desert Springs is exclusive (many sporting icons have villas there), tee queues are rare, green fees can be low at certain times daily (2010 rates from 55 euros to 65e max at peak hours and seasons), and there are enough leisure & dining facilities on site to occupy most people, families and even non-golfers for a week. Villaricos and Mojacar have spectacular fiestas (refer to their websites - the Old Moorish town has its spectacular fiesta in 2nd weekend in June). Mojacar old town (Moorish) is 20 mins away, on top of a hill, and is very popular for its shops and narrow quaint streets and views.Vera town is 10 mins away and is a typical Spanish town with good shopping, a large Saturday market and typically Spanish restaurants

Flights to Almeria (55 mins from DS), Murcia (1hr 20 or Alicante ( 2 hrs). All routes from airports to DS are mainly motorway.

Nearest airports are Almeria (50 mins to Desert Springs), Murcia and Alicante (approx 2 hours) It's mainly motorway for the airports (the E15 is a new and at times virtually empty motorway ) to Desert Springs.

Jet 2, Ryanair, Bmibaby, Monarch, Thompson, Easyjet, all have flights daily to these airports, so check for the best deals, no need to spend a fortune!
Car hire again is best to check on the web for the best deals. WARNING - Do not leave any valuables in the hire car, hire cars seem to be a target for thieves when you're out and about!
